Geez! Glad to see someone else doing this. I've been using my 54" belly mower on my 2370 as a bushhog for 7 plus years. And I hire myself out to cut other people's heavy grass with it. The deck is still in great shape after all this time. PTO, well it finally crapped out after 1000 hours on the engine and is in the shop right now for low pressure in the circuit. PTO' bogs down and stops. Will be an expensive rebuild, but things do wear out eventually!

I took my shoot, guards and wheels off. The thing can take some serious abuse. I hit a tree stump one time and knocked it completely off the tractor. No damage and it took 5 minutes to put it back on and continue mowing. It will mulch smaller limbs and mow 6 ft tall grass as long as the shoot does get stopped up and you run over it a couple times.

Great decision to leave the bucket in place. Neat mowing. Sorry, I think it's neat. 😊

I’ve used my mmm to help clear a little bit of land around my house. Cut down the growth with a chainsaw and then mow it down from there with the mmm. Some small less than an inch stumps I try to dodge but I’m not always successful and no harm so far. Works well. Plan to let the stumps rot for a year or so and then till it up and try and turn it into lawn.

Lucas: as always good info. Looks like you will have a day or two with the loader pulling/digging out rocks. Use the rocks around the farm for landscaping. I remember a video you did up on that side of the farm. Way back when. Nice to have land to call your own. Take care and stay safe.

That’s cool that you remember that. It’s been a while. I appreciate you’re support! Have a great week!

good topic. I have a bx2230 from 2007. I am afraid to use my brush hog after damaging rear PTO casing, big buck to repair. I believe it happened when I backed up. I know the drive line measure and cut is not building the space shuttle. It seems the brush hog is a gamble to use. That said, does setting up the MMM for use eliminate the high cost of repairs vs the brush hog? thanks.

I really would guess that the potential for damage would be just as high and just as expensive with the MMM. I’ve done a lot of hard bush hogging without any issues to my PTO gearbox. I would really just focus on making sure that the driveline is set up properly. That’s a shame you had that trouble!

I just cringe seeing tree limbs whacking the side of the tractor and the hood. I’m thinking of the scratches. 😢😂 At almost $3k for the deck, I’m very picky what I mow with it. You’re on point about maintaining the area once you know the area it is a lot faster.

I get that, but I never have worried about scratches and dents. I won’t intentionally abuse it (except to get a good camera shot), but I figure I got it to put to work. 🤷🏼♂️👊

I use a 72" zero turn for 10 acres and a mile of woods trail, after a walk through of course.

Might want to attach your heage trimmer to the bucket or ropes to trim back the over hanging limbs on the trails.

Lol. Not a bad idea.

Thanks for sharing your experiments - really enjoy the channel! Although I can’t believe you set the camera and knowingly ran the blade over that rock - I guess you knew you would be sharpening them anyway.

Lol. I bumped the rock and saw the sparks and decided that would make a cool shot so I backed up and did it again. No big deal, they’ll sharpen. 👊

I know a guy or 12 that clears trails with the MMM, send it! We keep plenty of parts!!
