Hey Kerbo, hope things are going well, in regards to texture's, a lot of player's are having the same issue from when the game was moved to UE5, not all but most texture's are blobby and low quality, devs were made aware within a couple minutes of the update coming out. For the telegraph office and water tower at spawn being gone, that's a thing on everyone's saves that were made before the update. any save made after the update should still have them.

“Genius move, or tears?” That move wasn’t all that uncommon on the actual early railways, but they used wooden poles between the mainline and siding cars to shove them (called “poling”). Many car designs had poling pockets built in their bulkheads so the pole wouldn’t slip. That practice was eventually outlawed for safety reasons, of course.

frankly you got lucky with only having lost the switch LODs 😂 loaded my game up and ALL the textures were buttery smooth like the switch ties

You're not alone. I've seen many, many reports on Steam and Discord of that texture problem. It turns out though the switches have always been like that. Whatever graphics changes they made this patch just makes it very obvious. I went back and looked at previous episodes and sure enough, the switch ties are low resolution.

While there's definitely some graphics issues for a lot of people right now, all switches have had poor textures for ages. You can check for yourself on your last video at 45 seconds. Anyways, doesn't change much about this needing to be fixed, if your report moves the needle then that would be fantastic. :) Hope we'll get another crane at the freight depot. The farm uses a lot of seeds. Also speedmeter ist in mph. Tested that once.

After making the bug report I did go back and check some of my previous videos and sure enough the switch ties are lower resolution. CS2 is free on Game Pass so I tried it out a little. It's OK, but performance is terrible and most of the simulation they touted as a feature is either broken or faked.

Brakes are still binary. The slower control movement might be from the new mouse sensitivity setting that was added.

Yeah I expect to an extent Railroader will split some of the Railroads Online fanbase, if it can at least prove to have more engaging game play and stability.

The brake bug is waiting on the next UE5 patch, I think. This update is weird. I haven't seen any of the bad ones. I've only run into floating rocks and the changes to the map border.

@joeclaymore they are a very small indy team. None of the bugs showed up in play testing. Which is why they only pushed this to the beta branch and not the main branch.

Kerbo for one could be one of many YT creators who could easily run updates through play testing ahead of a broader release. Additonally, they could create an Alpha branch for this as well before widely pushing updates.

They definitely screwed up the textures. I went to a previous video of yours where you were running the Montezuma and compared the locomotive as well as the cargo. Everything in this new update is messed up from the cars to the cargo to the locomotive. It seems as though the game gets worse and worse with each update instead of better. This game had a lot of potential to be good, but I just don't see it.
