I like Vita3K a lot. It's not perfect, but one day, it will be. Because, one day, despite how well I take care of it, my actual hardware will stop working. And on that day, I'll be very happy that someone out there decided that the PS Vita was worth preserving.

Because the Vita was a flop, with very few exclusives that have never been ported, so there is very little active development to develope an emulator (Unlike the 3DS, which was far less powerful than the Vita, but was a commercial success and got an emulator about 2 years after release) Vita3K is a MASSIVE undertaking by a small team, which has to be commemorated, since it would otherwise simply not exist

I play the same games without lag or any setup, i only set the resolution to 2x and change the driver to 24.3.0 R9V2 it works perfectly that way for me. I do have to say that im using a xiaomi Mi 10 it also has a sd 865 and 8gb of ram so it should be about the same experience!

It is normal with emulators to get stuttering at rhe start, on the bottom there is a box that appears from time to time that says "Pipeline compiled" or something similar to that, which means the game was doing some heavy 1 time compilation in the background, and once it is done, it will not have to be repeated, so if you replay that same part of the game a second time, you will not get that stuttering

Betteridge's Law of Headlines strikes again! On a serious note; thanks for the tutorial portion at the beginning of this video. It was what finally inspired me to try Vita3K on my phone. I followed along and everything worked. The only issue I'm facing is that trying to use Android's nav buttons/gestures to leave a running Vita game locks up my phone, requiring me to force restart the whole phone whenever I'm done playing. Odd.

It's funny. I initially thought I could make vita emulation work on an Odin 2 mini. And I felt like the Odin 2 mini was close formwise to make me be satisfied. Long story short, Odin 2 mini sold... And vita 1000 is coming from a trade...

About how to record the gameplay, maybe you could do a mix of both on hand and "clean shots" as you did here, in order to make it more believable to the viewer, since the uninformed can be quite skeptical. Great video!

You can also try the Wii version of Murumasa if it doesn't work as that plays flawlessly on the RP5

Vitamin dumps are an older format and not supported for the emulator. You will need to dump your games with NoNpDrm

You'll need to soft mod your vita and use vitashell - i think there is a brief overview at the vita3k site. vita3k.org/quickstart.html Alternately just 'acquire' backups from *cough* your good friend the internet.

Vita 3k seems to have frame pacing issues on android. On my samsung phone i use an app called galaxymaxhz to set the refresh rate to 30hz for vita3k. Eliminates the stuttering in Wipeout and gravity rush. Unfortunately it only works on samsung phones that have ltpo display.

All depends on what you want to do. PC handhelds offer a greater range of things you can play and better performance. But at the cost of being heavier and having much shorter battery life. All depends on your priorities.

This why I say emu is too much work for most. Just play the games from app store and cloud and remote play. Much easier than going through all of this and just having a mobile controller like kishi or backbone. Your good to go.

No, but all the popular retro systems can be emulated on Vita. PS Vita didn't sell well so the emulator started late. Many people don't care about Vita. Many think that the games library was bad. I'm shocked you're talking about the Vita to be honest. PSP and Vita is kinda of ignored by the RH community. Side note I think it was ETA Prime, he said something about the Switch being able to play Vita games natively but I haven't heard anything else about it. Also, I think there is a difference between the platforms. I believe Windows emulation maybe better than Android or vice versa.

My first foray into handheld emulation was actually a modded PSP probably about 15 years ago. The vita is a really neat piece of hardware but definitely wasn’t as mainstream as other devices.

❤ similar to switch, I feel the original hardware doesn't cost much and both are available with gorgeous OLED screens... Vita oled hacked with sd adapter cost half the price of rp5... Well worth it. PS1 and PSP émulation runs amazingly on Vita as well.

Use the turnip 24.3.0 R9v2 driver in almost every emulator it fixes all the bugs and givea great performance!!

Like all higher end systems - the emulation is flaky and unreliable. Gamecube / Switch* / PS2* / Vita etc... (* - no fix any time soon!) You really have to handpick the games that seem stable and communicate with the relevant community.

@@LordR32 Gamecube is in active development with the Dolphin emulator, but they are still plenty of issues. PS2 is much more of a shitstorm, the only worthwhile emulator ceased development some months ago, and you have 2 versions that each offer different compatibility. But you can only install 1 version at a time. So, yes you can play a lot of games. I would say something like 75% play decently and maybe 50% are perfect..
