wondered how to make a main menu in roblox studio? or how to create a shop which has working GUI? ive made lots of 2024 roblox scripting tutorials about all the different bits of roblox to give you some up-to-date information about all of its properties and events.
my goal is to simply give some insight on how to use the various features and instances roblox studio, and show you some fun stuff you can do with them. thanks for checking out this roblox scripting tutorial :)

tbh I only use roblox ai to explain events or functions I have no clue ever existed, like "next()" surprisingly, it works a lot better than you would expect, because I think it takes its info straight off of the roblox lua documents, which is exactly why I use the roblox ai over chatGPT. (note that I dont use it for scripting because it outputs really bad code sometimes) but explanations are basically perfect Mlaterp

honestly, the roblox ai isn't that bad, but the thing with ai is that you kind of already have to know some of what your doing so you can fix it when its wrong. It's nice to let it write some code within a script though to get a nice shortcut because it often actually does understand what I am trying to do.

I feel as though this is unfair to ChatGPT. You're using the base model of ChatGPT, which is GPT3.5-Turbo, where as GPT-4-Turbo would of outperformed it in EVERY case scenario. You can freely access GPT-4 on Bing or Copilot, and its EXACTLY the same technology that powers ChatGPT, as OpenAI and Microsoft have a partnership.

It would be helpful if a plugin for Roblox GPT was developed. This plugin should be able to take an input formatted in a specific way, which can be read by ChatGPT. The output generated by ChatGPT should be used by the plugin to change explorer files. This way, users won't have to manually add code themselves.

Hello even though I really loved your video I would like to point out the full scope of AI your not using clever prompt engineering like "... Explain your reasoning step by step" which believe it or not makes the AI actually think step by step. You are also using the ChatGPT 3.5 model which is not to great I'd recommend you try out Claude Sonnet (you cannot use Claude Sonnet forever there is a usage).

Id say the AI in roblox is really bad any time using it all I would want it to do is either add some code to an already existing script or fix something and it would just explain the code rather than doing anything. Yet when using ChatGPT is works pretty damn good, one thing I've learned though with using ChatGPT with coding for roblox is you want to be rather exact on what you want and it helps if you know somewhat how something is coded for it to work. For instance a game I've been working on I have it so you spawn with a Tool that when you click it, it spawns a car and I gave ChatGPT that code and told it that when the player spawns the car again to have it destroy the other one owned by the player which worked perfectly. But then an issue I had was if the player left the game the car would stay so I tried for a bit on how to have it destroy the car which took awhile since I really only know rather basic stuff with roblox coding but enough to get by. But I finally noticed that when you sit in the car a SeatWeld would get added to the VehicleSeat so then I told ChatGPT that if a SeatWeld doesnt exist for 30 seconds in the VehicleSeat to destroy the car but then had to have it rewrite it a couple times so that if the SeatWeld was to appear the script would start over. Now though after using ChatGPT enough with coding stuff in roblox it pretty nice to use if you somewhat know how something is coded but don't know how to fully code it yourself. Plus it's also nice to use ChatGPT for optimizing your scripts and make then either less performance heavy or less chance of having issues down the road. Or you can give it some already existing scripts and have it rewrite it how you want it to work and it does that very well. Cause something else I did was use someones inventory script but use ChatGPT to rewrite it so it would show items that were stored under the player in a folder called Stats which is all the items the player collected rather than being Tools.

now, roblox ai is not bad, but not good either, i do see that chatgpt is better at creating code/scripts if u explain in detail, as it doesnt know everthing about roblox and isnt a ai made for roblox game development, and with the chatgpt plus version (which i used before) its even better, i asked chatgpt+ to create a model of a chair, a functioning lamp, and a table only with scripts, and it actually worked and created an decent model, and the lamp was actually functioning, then i asked the same thing for roblox ai, and it just create parts in random positions xd.
