I wish the Royal Mint would just stick to sovereigns and Britannia's and if they going to do any special series just do one at a time not like 5 or 6. They are diluting the market with all the extra stuff. Prices they charging is just stupid just because it is a proof coin. I been stung by silver proof coins in the past with Star Trek silver coins from nearly 30 years ago when the spot price back then for silver was barely £5 per oz, They were selling a set of 6 silver proof coins in a fancy faux leather box for something like £120 and the idiot that I was back then bought it. Ended up selling them a few years later at a huge loss.

Like the Pistrucci stuff. All gold in reasonable weights during the recent release was gone in a second! Really used to enjoy BYBs comentary vids on the release days minute by minute.

They are just cashing in. Quality and Customer isnt the #1 priority for them. They see the customer as a cash cow that they want to squeeze the milk from.

Absolutely done with RM. Just sold my Tudor Beast collection as I don’t trust them to complete series anymore. No going back for me

I was buying queens beast 1/4oz gold proofs just 5 years ago for 475 pound, the recent tudor dragon 1/4 gold proof was 750 pound last week and since release, now increased to 799 pound? Or are my eyes broken ..

@@the_islandstacker pick any excuse out of the top two .. ;) I was a buyer at 750 , but at 799 I'll simply fall back to the Bullion coin for 510. Noting I have to ship over to Aussie land and pay all the fees and taxes when it arrives, get stung 3x every time

Hello I hope you are well. I have recently inherited an 1886 soverign and I have no idea where to go/who to turn to with regards to getting it valued. I have seen the prices some have sold for on ebay but I'm not sure if that's a true reflection. Do you have any advice on where I should go to get reliable information?

You have an approximate £440 to £450 value coin there. It isn't anything particularly rare, just a really nice older gold coin!

The Royal Mint has done some really good things in the past. To my mind their portraits of Queen Elizabeth and King Charles are miles better than any produced by other Commonwealth countries. Against that, someone decided to put the date 2023 upside-down below the portrait, so that it reads E707. That is just silly, it could have been the right way up, with a little more thought. And that is what the Royal Mint needs more than anything else at the moment - more thought.

Royal Mint has some of the lowest mintages of all major global mints. To get their coins around the world they have to be increasing mintages. The other mints have been doing this forever really 🤔

Like I have said before, the only reason I use The Royal Mint is to avoid Capital Gains Tax, if it wasn't for that i wouldn't use them. If we get a Labour government in power next month (3rd time lucky to bankrupt the UK) then that might come to an end, along with VAT on gold. That will hit the Royal mint hard, all the years of not bothering because they had a tax advantage, will show up their very poor service and quality.

Royal mint is 💩, coins come from mint milky and spotty. Unacceptable to get a Tube of fresh Britts and 20 out of 25 are milky . . .
