Great tip at the end regarding buying the brush cutter tool then just buying the head for the trimmer. Ive been on the fence about which to get. Now I know.

I purchased the KMA135R to replace my KM94R petrol unit, just fed up with noise. The battery unit has even more power/torque when it comes to trimming.
@garymckinstry9103 жыл бұрын
Really? I was thinking of changing hoping that it would be a bit lighter as most of the hedges I do are very wide at the top and standing on a ladder makes it very tiring. But it felt as heavy as my petrol.unit and I tnoughtbit wouldn't have the power of the engine or durability throughout heavy stuff
@thebelgiangardener1843 жыл бұрын
@@garymckinstry910 Hi, yes depending on the capacity of the battery the unit can be heavier than the petrol unit KM94R. But you have to consider the vibrations too which cause a lot of fatigue. Vibrations are much lower on the battery unit and compensate the weight surplus in my opinion. And noise too. As far as the power is concerned, the battery power unit has more power and torque, compared to the KM94R. Nobody call tell about the durability at this stage as it is a new engine. The rest is personal preference.

That little toy can’t handle shit. We’ll I’m sorta kidding but sorta not. I’m a pro landscaper with a lot of battery and gas tools and battery still has a long way to go. It’s heavier, weaker , and more expensive LOL. Also.. how about carrying inside a bunch of batteries at the end of a long days work and making sure each one gets charged and yes you’re gonna need more than one. You’re paying more money up front for less power. Even at 6 bucks a gallon right now in California it’s not justifiable to buy a $1500 backpack battery that only runs the weed whacker for a claimed 100 minutes at best.. pathetic.. my Km 131 4 mix cuts weeds for nearly 8 hours on 1 gallon of gas. I guess I can’t blame Stihl for trying to comply with all the silly shit that is impractical climate activism. You got John Kerry flying private jets but pretty soon us gardeners won’t be able to purchase new gas tools here in California because of scumbag liberals.

I’m looking to change into KMA135R as well I’ve got the exact same KM94 as well just fed up with noise/fuel..

Think if you're young or just starting out, this is a great option! For an old fart like me who is starting to think about retirement, it's a non starter. Way too expensive to replace all my existing equipment! Combi systems are excellent though, I have 2 Husqvarna 535LK's and they have enough power to do almost anything!

iv tried it and id say battery tool is getting there but not yet for heavy duty jobs ,for commercial use i stick to my 2 stroke units.

For commercial landscaping/gardening, they're going to need a much bigger battery. For single site groundskeeping however, this is perfect. I work for a state college and recently decided to pitch the purchase of a trial set of their kobie battery system w/ an AR 3000 L battery. I work in the same Athletics area every day, so most of my work is simple detailing and maintenance. This system is working GREAT for that application.

I have the 135 but with other configuration not with all those adapters, I have try all kind of blades it work with every one just like any gas trimmer, the bad part is you are limited with battery. I normally use the AP500S battery however I have use all batteries from AP200 to AP500S. I have also the chainsaws 161T, 220C and MSA3000 and the situation is the same the machines are great the issue is the battery running time.
@prewinder2 жыл бұрын
@@sirvozelo1 I have worked a bit with the msa220 chainsaw and it works as expected. In my experience an AP500 battery gives about the same operating time as a tank of petrol in a similar petrol saw, so a couple of batteries are needed to work a full day. But I have not seen anybody you the KMA 135 in use with the wood cutting blade and that raise the question if it is strong enough to cut trough say 2-4 inches of small trees or if it is just for smaller stuff under 1 inch.
@sirvozelo12 жыл бұрын
@@prewinder I have the 161T, 220C, MSA300 and the 135Trimmer, the 161T in it's class i consider it a worse horse I am super happy in ever way, the 220C it's okay but I don't like the way the blade is secure kind feels like an experience and cheap material, the MSA300 is a joy powerful machine but is like a Mustang GT with an empty tank of gas cutting dry oak with a 16" blade on a log using 80 to 90% of the blade 10 cuts and the AP500S is out of power, the 135 Trimmer I have cut all kind of things 2, 3" small brush even small oaks shrubs with right blade it cuts everything just the batteries if used in full power not last long. After all I am happy with all Stihl battery power machines I have, except with batteries time, to me the battery time for professional use is short and the batteries are very expensive. I also have the GTA26 this one I have not much use for it, I buy it more for curiosity but it works to. In regard to batteries I have 1 AP200, 1 AP300, 3 AP300S, 3 AP500S and 2 for the GTA26, I very much have tested all of themes and in different machines just to have a feeling of the battery performance from one machine to another.
@sirvozelo12 жыл бұрын
I don't know if I can give you the right answer but last summer i was in one of my lands and I have many many tick shrubs kind oak some light some about 2, 3 inches and my problem was not to cut themes it was that they are to much together falling on the top of the machine and got me stuck. I end up using the 161T for I cut themes with one hand and trow back with other hand as I was holding themes.
@prewinder2 жыл бұрын
@@sirvozelo1 Yes it requires some skill and training in felling them not to get tangled up and shrubs is hard. Clearing should be done in time to get it efficient. What I am talking about is this kind of clearing kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4K9eX9pmtxnpJI I have not seen anybody do it with a Stihl KMA 135 R, but there is a blad for it so I am curious. If it is any good at it I consider getting one cause I do a little of this kind as well as trimming hedges and grass, rather than getting two or three separate units.
