Most Vikings fans don't know that one of the Rams Defenders after the game said they watched our film from the entire year and realized our coach never changed the game plans for passing and that they would have plenty of time to get to our quarterback and so they game schemed around that. Put the Rams coach implemented two or three things that they never saw during the regular season, for example of blitzing corner. KOC needs to hire a good offensive coordinator and stop calling plays

As a seasoned Viking fan I can say this year was better than most years if not ALL years (not 1998) based on the simple fact that the Vikings did not blow ONE single game to a miserably woeful opponent. EVERY year they do that. This year they ONLY lost to the two teams that were definitively better than them...twice, in the same order.

It's a toughness thing. The defense plays well because it's tough. The offense can score if they play a poor team (sometimes. That Jax, Ten, Chi stretch tests that hypothesis). We won a lot of games but I had zero confidence in winning a playoff game.

Been a viking fan for many years. It's getting to where watching them stresses me out. I don't need that, so next year I won't waste my money on NFL Sunday ticket. I will still check on their scores and if they make it to the playoffs then I'll try to watch. After 50 something years I have come to the conclusion they won't win a super bowl before I die so it's just a waste of my time.

You nailed it. Going into my 54th year as a Vikings fan this year. This is looking like dennis green all over again. If the Vikes don't make serious noise in the playoffs next year, a coaching change may be warranted. I think the pendulum is swung the other way after the Mike Zimmer era. The vikings of the seventies we're always competitive in their playoff games, except for the nineteen seventy eight first round, lost to the Rams. But. Even in that game as mediocre, as they had become due to age by that time, they were still competitive through the first half.

Give the guy an offensive line that can block and see what happens. He took the mid roster that got Spielman and Zimmer fired and went 13-3 his first year. Then, after that, he has a year in which Cousins goes down, and he still manages to keep the mid roster competitive with Dobbs and Mullens. This year, he goes 14-2 with Sam Darnold even after losing Darrisaw and still fielding a makeshift offensive line. Vegas had this team at 6 wins. Maybe you guys shouldn't have unrealistic expectations. The truth is that he's had the team outperforming expectations since he's arrived. It's not his fault that Spielman and Kwesi have been unable to field a good offensive line for years. Darrisaw will be back healthy next year. We'll see how Kwesi addresses that soft interior this off-season.

KOC is a used car salesman. Wins at the podium and locker room speeches but can't win when it matters on the field. Can't close out games because he hasn't prioritized the run and gets his QBs killed after never ending go balls.

No, you weren't too hard on KOC - he was awful when it mattered most. Again. So, I'll give him one more season (also bc I know it's stupid to ask for a new HC after this year with Darnold) and if he does the same, it's over for me. Then I'll be convinced that he's probably a good OC and a serviceable-in-regular-season HC but not the one who can lead us to a SB win.

Kevin O'Connell is a young head coach who is still unfortunately learning the hard way. He hasn't grasped the game adjustments part yet. Darnold should have been benched at the end of the first half in the Detroit game. The o line was getting bull dozed in both games, yet O'Connell still dialed up deep passing plays instead of switching to quick passing plays. Also, the offense should have gone no huddle the entire second half against the Rams. When a defensive line blitzes non-stop the entire game with no respect, you have to change the game tempo and don't allow rotation and rest for your opponent. Every game will have challenges. KOC needs to get more disciplined with always having an answer. Don't just sit there on the sideline looking lost and defeated. Do something about it.

Difference between, lets say the Rams vs Vikings, in regards to style or philosophy is that the Rams are built to run their Coaches type of style. Shifty receivers and quick pass game with slants and quick outs. We have a Coach wanting to run a 70% passing offense with a F$%&%$# offensive line that can't pass protect. They can't run block either to show the run to set up your F$%&%$# pass plays! This team sucks and will continue to suck until they get an offensive line!

Yes! He can start by getting rid of Darnald. 14 wins is no joke, but you got to have the confidence as a QB to be focused with steady nerves in the playoffs. Darnald will never have that, and neither will Mullens (1-5 in games last year). It's time to move on from both!
