It’s sad the the only light bulb that went off in the husbands mind was when Victoria brought up his daughters safety being in jeopardy if he allowed the bad behavior to continue. Cause he didn’t seem to keep up with hardly any of it. The only things he seemed consistent on is if it was involving his daughter. The problems in that home stemmed from the man of the house not establishing leadership over the dogs, dogs are going to challenge the pack order if they are unsure of it, if a dog knows it can behave a certain way and get it's way then that is what it will do. I would never allow dogs into my bed, ever, your bed is a place for you and your partner by bringing dogs into your bed you are establishing them as your equals when they are not, aside from that they stink the bed up and get hair everywhere. It shouldn't even be a question, your wife and baby matter so much more than the dogs, absolute no brainer situation.
@absolutelynobodycares7 ай бұрын
@@seraphx26 Dogs are family animals. They live in a family. Wolves live in families in the wild. The "alpha" theory is based on a study on wolves in confinment. Dogs, like kids, need boundaries, guidance and stimulation. They don't need to be "alpha rolled" or pushed down. Letting a dog sleep next to you is not "establishing them as equals". They want comfy sleep and to be with their family. Like a toddler. As long as the boundaries are firm, consequent, and you practise kindess and compassion with your dog it will not try to overthrow you and bite your face off no matter if it's allowed in bed or nah

Truth! When a pet is brought into a family home, it's the mother that the majority of the responsibility for the pets falls on. When the family decided on getting a puppy who would grow into a large dog, the rules were laid down then enforced. Our dog was obedience trained then leash trained, then walked at least twice daily. Neighbors would remark at seeing my 6 year old walking our 120 lb dog with ease. Both of them were taught from an early age.

only need one of them to loose their marbles and its bye chad. this is like getting in middle of lion cub fights. he needs to pay them 3 all equal attention because dogs can get very jealous, some more than others. you give one too much attention and that one will be the instigator of all dog fights in that house hold. we have 3 dogs and two kids. both raised around dogs from day 1. we always give each dog same amount of love and attention so not one feels more entitled than the other. if one plays up, that one gets put in time out for 2 mins before allowed to play again until the trouble maker can learn to play nice. they all know if any one of them does it, they get time out. infact it works very well on our kids as they growing up.

The thing is you should always speak to your partner when you want to get a pet, and if you have a baby or child it needs to be addressed aswell. Mastiffs are huge dogs and they need plenty of exercise, having three mastiffs and not taking them on walks, that's neglect. You shouldn't own a animal or multiple if you can't give them the proper care and exercise that they need. You also shouldn't feed your dogs human food and definitely not when you are eating, because you encourage the behavior and they will start to beg for food and wait until you give it to them. One way or another, my girlls go on a walk. My old lady/Retired SD has Arthritis, shes 15 and she'll let the walker know when she's done, and she'll get picked up for the remainder of the walk, but then they'll keep going so the 2 year old gets her full walk every day. They are messing all over the house, they are getting into the family's bed, the husband is not acknowledging OR caring about the fact that his lovely wife CLEARLY doesn't feel comfortable with the dogs (especially in the bed and around their little girl) and yet, THE WIFE is having to do ALL the dirty work, cleaning up after the dogs while the husband does NOTHING to contribute to their care. It doesn’t help that my neighborhood has stray cats running everywhere and my neighbors have a dog that isn’t reactive, but extremely aggressive that they don’t keep properly restrained. To think, I'm out here, working with dogs for a living, well educated about my favorite breeds, and I STILL wouldn't get a Border Collie bc I'm simply worried I wouldn't be able to do enough to keep one genuinely happy! And then there's this sort of person who does not care what his dogs need, he just wants them so he got them with no regard for how good their lives will be. I can't.
@kearstinnekenerson66769 ай бұрын
@@alexw.7097 the only reason I would get a border collie is if I had a farm with sheep
@alexw.70979 ай бұрын
@@kearstinnekenerson6676 Exactly. At the very least, a dog with the level of work drive a border Collie has, needs a job to do. Obviously, they're built for herding and farm dog stuff, so they'd be most fulfilled by working on a farm, but they're plenty capable of many different doggy jobs. But they need a job or to be exercised for *hours a day* to be really happy. So, knowing my limits, I'd rather not get one at all than get one and let them down.

One of the things I loved most was walking my dogs. I started training them from the word go. And I enjoyed every minute of their 15 years of life. These people who get dogs and don’t bother training and walking.

This woman needs to divorce the 8-year-old boy she married and find someone who actually cares about her and the child she gave birth to. I wish her luck. This man/child will revert right back to his 8-year-old behavior the minute Victoria leaves. Chad however, is a good argument for shock collars.
@maryk.86392 ай бұрын
I hope she has a lot of fun with it. As if she would leave there. Did you see her cleaning up the dog pss at the very beginning? This woman has no idea about cleaning properly and definitely has a cleaning lady. That means she sits at home all day and doesn't do anything. The dogs were bought by her husband and this is why they none of her business? She can be glad that her husband didn't throw her out long ago.

I admit I brought a dog home without speaking to my husband. Both our well loved fab dogs dies withing 6 months of each other. He knew I missed them so much. We live on a farm a farm without a dog is strange, a house without a dog is not a home. Then we got another so we were complete again, but they were easy dogs, good dogs. I can Understand the situation, my husband looked after our dogs along side me. They got walked, they got lots of exercise just being themselves out in a field or with a football... Gentle with the kids. They did work on the farm, they did help round up the kids when they were out playing in the fields, and they also helped us with moving cattle... They were GSDs.... These beautiful mastiffs are bored. If he CBA walking his dogs, get a daily dog walker (well 3 dog walkers) or surrender them to people who can provide these gorgeous dogs with love, training, activity etc. Thank you for this episode x

I think it's different when you're living on a farm. You're both obviously animal people, and both love dogs. There's some agreement there to the acceptance of new animals. In this case, the wife didn't agree to or want the dogs, or even have knowledge of them prior to the husband procuring them.

Make that slacker Chad clean up the pee. I want to see him clean up the mess. How could he have those dogs as puppies and never have walked them? Victoria gave very clear instructions and examples for how to deal with answering the door, and keeping dogs off the bed. Is Chad mentally challenged?

The thing that annoys me with these people is the fact they have no idea how to bring up a dog,you have to start when they are cute puppies. It's hard I know to be strict with a puppy but if you don't you will end up with dogs like these.

Its the same principle with children. Its always best to start young like toddler tantrums. I used to work in daycare and I saw so many parents reasoning, bribing and giving in to their toddlers tantrums and its a receipe for diaster because all they learn is that behaviour gets them what they want. Ignore the tantrum and don't react once calm then you reinforce that behaviour is not acceptable. Same with dogs my mums dog has problems created by the previous owners, they never socialised him with other dogs or walked him they took him for a run in a field as a result he's an utter nightmare when he sees other dogs even when they don't react to him its taken 18 months of hard work to read his body language and anticipate when he'll react so we can nip it in the bud. He still reacts but now he knows we won't tolerate it and he'll told no.

I feel like it's a failing of our society that people like Melissa aren't taught to stand up for themselves or given enough support to have integrity. No relationship is more important than the safety of a child and the welfare of the individuals in that relationship.

I never understand when I hear people have dogs and don't go on daily walks. When I had my dog, I took her out for Long walks twice a day, taking her to the park and playing fetch up and down a big hill so she'd race up and down the hill for a good one to three hours depending one when she got tired. I also brought her water bowl and four liters of water and let her drink when thirsty. I also got help with proper trainer to help teach with walks and leash and off leash training as well as recall training. Thanks to how I was taught I am now able to help others with basic training but I always warn people who ask me for advice that I'm not a dog trainer rather I have knowledge learned from trainers. End result was a dog who was fully trained at six months and when I was unable to keep her as I had to start working and had no help or the money for it so I found a very good home from her. Ensuring she was well cared for and in the right family was painful for me but was the right thing to do. I put her needs first rather than trying to force her to stay and have to leave her for nine hours a day stuck in a crate. I miss her but seeing these stories remind me that I could have slipped so I ensured she was safe and would have her best life. I love watching Victoria's training methods and she's truly amazing. Her training methods are the exact same I was taught too.
