Amanda's performance was the stand out... Capturing her audience from the very first note. The team behind the Simon Cowell one was probably more rememberable for me for it's comic value as well as a good voice but perhaps more for the fear factor. That much technology, that ability to put people so convincingly in situations, having them say (or sing) anything at all, could be used for evil as well as for entertainment.

For me Amanda was the most impressive because it was a far more difficult song to sing and she sang it like it was effortless. Plus, no overproduction and overdone colours and too many dancers going everywhere all so distracting - just a singer, with a mic, singing beautifully.

I think in reality any of those elaborate productions would receive, 'the hand' from Simon and be asked if they could sing something a capella and without all the showbiz. Holding the judges to their judging standards would be very interesting.

Sometimes it’s just not feasible not to lip-synch. Like in Jennifer’s case, it involves a lot of dancing, and a routine, which would obviously put you out of breath. Which would make everything harder to do, which is why the case of lip-synching is needed because it’s just hard to sing while out of breath, and remember a whole routine.

AGT is a singing competition not a lip-syncing competition. The question was: Can The Judges Sing? To find out I would like them to be judged in the same manner they judge contestants on their show. As for singers like Jennifer, if she can't dance and sing at the same time during a live performance then she needs to adjust her dance routine not resort to lip-syncing. It's my understanding that she is the worst when it comes to faking live performances.

Actually this is a talent competition which means you can sing, you can dance and you can tell jokes. Obviously trying to do it all at once is a bit of a challenge. Luv'd the Simon cotestant. Not sure Amanda Holden wasn't lip sinking but she does put on a good show. There are a lot more judges that can sing better even on a bad day.
