Hey Farmer E, my name is Todd and I'm a recovering waffle addict. I'll eat any waffle...handmade batter waffles, those waffles you make yourself at a hotel, even freezer Eggo waffles. But I put something a little strange on my waffles....peanut butter! Then I bathe them in Vermont dark maple syrup.

Now craving brunost. I worked in Norway for a while and developed a taste for brunost. Have spent the last 20 years scouring cheese shops in UK to pay fortune for tiny amounts. Love it with pickled beetroot or cherry jam.

Great video, Farmer E. Our waffle iron (Canadian) has the 4 divisions, like yours, but round top, instead of the hearts. As for cast iron ... we use pie irons in our fire and you can make hand pies with either bread or soft taco shells and jam / nutella / pie filling.

oops ... I see that you have 5 parts ...

That brown cheese looked great. In Canada most waffle irons have a symmetrical design whether they are round or square so that the waffle can easily be cut in two or folded in half. It's traditional to eat waffles with butter and syrup using a knife and fork like the way we eat pancakes. Of course, just about any kind of topping for waffles is normal in our modern times. Mostly, waffles are a breakfast food and as far as I'm concerned they are best eaten with cold milk to wash them down.

From Tasmania in Australia. My grandmother started my love for waffles in the 1950s. She used an electric one but not heart shaped. Now I have an electric heart shaped Teflon coated one also a cast aluminium for over fire or gas. I use strawberry jam and whipped cream. I use melted butter and either copha or olive oil melted together. To brush on the cooker. My grandmother said you have to let the batter sit for 30 minutes before cooking

In the US, first time seen Heart Shaped Waffles. I’ve only seen round or square but it seems like a good way to start the day; AND, those seem thinner.
@J859092663 жыл бұрын
In the USA, homemade waffles are typically made either square or round and break apart in to quarters. We typically use maple syrup and butter and eat with knife and fork because they are very sticky, but I am now definitely going to try things like jam, sour cream, and cheese next time I make them. Personally, I usually just eat them with salted butter. I wish I had that brown cheese here. I would love to try it.

Haha you fed your chicken waffles (they contain chicken eggs), the chicken will hate you for it.
Way to go. Gordon Ramsay has something to learn here. But all waffle irons should have six hearts. The ones with five is a manufacturing error, and you should get your money back. With six hearts it folds easily in the middle, and you have the added benefit of being able to make three double hearts. WHY DON'T WAFFLE IRON MANUFACTURERS UNDERSTAND THIS?????? Anyhow, nice demonstration of norwegian waffle tradition, and you're hereby invited to have six-hearted waffles with sour cream and jam at my place.
