Can This $90 Red Dot Survive A Torture Test?
Northtac Red Dot
Is there a quality low cost red dot on the market today? Chadd puts a red dot from NorthTac through a torture test to see how durable this red dot is. This is a fun one. Let us know what you think.

Chad, you're very sensible, and I like it. Lot of folks equate price with quality in a linear way, like the US military, and they often make the perfect the enemy of the good. For example, the disasterous NGSW rifles/LMG program, or even the ACOG at $1800+ per unit. Cost effectiveness of weapons and platforms is a part of war, and it's a part our country has totally forgotten about.

I've had Northtac P-10s on a couple SBRs for a while now, and I feel like they're the best "micro-dot" option you have for even double the money. Shake awake is not instant on either, but as a battery saving function it's still fine for my uses.

I’ve been running a Sig Romeo5 ($110) on my Ruger AR556 MPR …. The difference compared to iron sights is phenomenal. And the sight has stood up to 2000 rounds in rain, shine, cold, warm, etc. I was trained, many years ago, to shoot an M16A1 (and then A2) over iron sights at 300 meters accurately. And I can still do that …. But that Sig RDS makes a huge difference in speed and transitions. For $110.

I haven’t done the really extreme abuse, but I’ve got a Romeo5 on my Ruger. I’ve run 2000 rounds through the Ruger with the Romeo on it. It’s been dropped, shot hard, banged against shit. I don’t baby my guns, but I certainly don’t treat them as hard as I did in the Army. After this experience, I would be comfortable with the Romeo5 in a tactical environment. For what that’s worth.

Vortex venom: saving marriages for the past ten years. I was pretty happy to buy an optic for my rifle when I got it. The first one I bought, I just put an lpvo on it at the recommendation of people who have been into guns longer than me. It's been good to me so far. 400 bucks and it hasn't lost its zero on me yet. My second rifle I just put a reflex sight on it because it was light and quicker. I wanted to try both and see how much I liked one over the other. Turns out I like them both about the same. I'm liking this channel so far. Just discovered it sometime in the last couple of weeks. I'm glad I just caught an older video where you talked about keeping your pistol up in the work space. When I've been out practicing lately, I've been lazy as hell and holding my pistol down in front of me rather than up in front of my face. Apparently I needed the reminder...so thanks man.

ok- was reading about JFK assassination. The bullet came from behind but the blood went left and backward. Is it possible? One theory is that Oswald was the shooter, and that when Kennedy's car slowed down and accelerated, the secret service vehicle behind followed suit, and an agent with an AR accidentally shot Kennedy in the head.
