Can this AI Smart Cube Teach You How To Solve It?

I got this QY SC A smart cube this week and just had to share it with you.
It's a bluetooth enabled speedcube that tracks your movements in real time, gives stats on your solves, and helps you unscramble your cube when it's too mixed up.

Umm, the nice thing to say would be "I think it's a great value!". It's hard to know if it's the software or hardware that's limited here. Considering that they went through the trouble of implementing a BLE radio and rotational sensors, they missed the possibilities. Adding a gyro (or fixing that one?) for a couple of pennies would have given them a lot more live interactivity. Add a bit more math and you don't have embarrassing moments by reviewers like @12:13. And why muck with the shapes? It took me a minute to get orientated. Cool interface, lotso possibilities in general as a multi-access controller. If they open sourced the software, they'll sell a bunch at that price!

You're absolutely right there. It's my first experience of a smart cube so I was going in cold and for whatever reason, my expectations were pretty low, especially with the immediacy of the feedback and so on. But now you point it out, if it was able to track the orientation too, that would make the whole process feel more fluid. Especially when it comes to doing the scramble!

​​@@JoeBleeps- lol. When the scramble popped up, I was "tweaking". Lol. It's quasi funny, I have a Wowcube (don't do it!), I was in the pre-order from 2+ years ago. And, it's the other way from this... There is sooooo much tech in this thing, that it'll never sell! I really do think that this cube is cool, the price point is perfect for diy. But, even as a non-cuber, I can see this may not be the way to learn. It's like those guitar helper things... "Now that you can push-button chords", you still can't play around the campfire!

To re learn all my old algorithms I went back to Jessica Fridrich's page with my fingers crossed it would still be there 🤣 I need diagrams and lists and lots of repetition. I'm curious to explore the tutorial features on this a bit more. I always found that the bit that I really needed to figure out is where to put my hands to get an algorithm to flow
