​@@danisob3633omg sometimes when I feel especially self conscious about my aim and the possibility I'll miss (if it's been a long time since I last played Ana, etc), I will straight up say in text chat "sorry in advance for my aim, you might die because of it but I'm trying" lol and honestly, I've literally had Genjis and Tracers come back to me or hide behind cover staying still so I can hit them 😭 I rarely feel so cared for by my dps (nothing will top the time a Cassidy peeked the edge of the map to save me when I was playing Mercy or the time a soldier 76 dropped their heal pad for me. but standing still so I don't miss is REALLY up there)

The fact that the other team flamed them and instead of tilting they turned their gameplay around is honestly super impressive. I've been in games where we're getting stomped and the other team is trash talking and my team just full rage tilts way more often.

just to add onto what emongg says: positioning as support is about finding places that let you do your job as safely as possible. part of your job is supporting your team with damage, utility, and healing. another part of your job is being able to fall back when necessary. another part is, as a general rule, not dying (sometimes you should die fast so your team can do a full regroup). so you need to be able to see your team but you also need an escape route and to make it hard for the enemies to get you. how you pick the perfect position will sometimes depend on the enemy heroes. for example, tracer has no vertical mobility. she can't get to high places easily, she has to literally take the stairs - unlike pharah or echo who can fly, genji who can climb, sombra who can throw her translocator, etc. so if you're playing against a tracer, high ground is really important. high ground is also good because all you need to do to break line of sight with the enemy (thus get in cover) is take a few steps back. so, a good way to start thinking about positioning is: 1. can i see all of my teammates? am i looking at a main route in the game where it's very likely that flankers will come back in my line of sight? can i see where my team is holding 2. can the enemy get to me easily? or are there obstacles between me and them? if an enemy decides to go for me, do they just have to press W or is there additional effort required? how long would it take for them to get to me? 3. if my team loses the fight, where am i going to go in order to escape if possible? how far is it? will enemies be able to easily get between me and my escape route, or will they have to use abilities and invest resources in order to get in my way? I've found it much easier to figure out positioning when i had questions i could ask myself about where i was positioned instead of just positioning where i saw other people position because "it's good positioning." questions are how you learn this kind of skill, it's something you have to practice thinking about until it becomes more automatic

Something I learned on Ana is to avoid chasing teammates to get LOS, you should still look to get a semi-decent position even if your teammates charge in (instead of just feeding with them)

One thing i also notice about low elo Anas is they always hold on to the Nano like their life depends on it maybe use it more often bc you can easily farm it again. Also situational awareness 0, the Reaper teleporting behind and getting the Ana was 100% on Ana

This Ana did not play too badly when defending last point because it limited their positioning choices. But the rest of the map, they were too jumpy/hyper and always creeping forward. I recommend over hyper players like this change their jump key binding in three hopes of trading that nervous habit for more calm/awareness.

yeah, thanks to the hyper behaviour their aim was also all over the place. i think they could do with a little less sensitivity on the mouse. All their sleepdarts were also WAY off target. The problem isnt the jumping though, and unbinding jump wouldnt fix the hyperactivity.

I think that Ana was trying to model Awkward's playstyle. Either way, I like the idea behind them, but they forgot two lessons: "Cover, cover, cover" and "their team goes back, I go front, their team goes forward, I go back". I liked the intention behind the sleeps, anyway, aggressive sleeps you get better at landing them when you keep trying.

Yep positioning. ML7 describes it as "slicing the pie" - using natural cover to "slice" the angle you can view/be viewed by. Also, sleeps felt rushed. Try to be a little more deliberate behind them... this comes with time for sure, but it's worth knowing. However it's definitely better to be using cooldowns often rather than sitting on them for too long.

Either these are super common names, or I am getting these people in my lobbies all the time. Alucard, Lyn, and Nexus are always showing up in my games and I am currently Gold 1, may just be the ranked system or something else entirely.

I have only seen Alucard(aka Dracula) a few times from that list. For the longest time it was something pants or shirt, something shark, something orc, adventurer in so many games. I'm guessing smurf or whatever accounts. Never saw the point in having such goofy account names. For me I always make it unique or special to me at least with some meaning behind them. There has been other duplicates showing up now so maybe the other accounts got banned or something 😂

The rotation from right to left at 8:38 actually makes a lot of sense because the widow was getting close to headshotting them. By going to behind the trailer they closed that sightline.

Haven't even watched the video but this reminds me of the time my team got pushed all the way back to spawn on Esperanca and the enemy Zen sent a preemptive GG EZ. Immediately we pushed them all the way back to their spawn and won the match. The pop off in the chat making fun of their Zen was glorious.

Cardinal rule number 1 when playing Ana or Zen is ALWAYS have an excape plan. Backing yourself into a corner will get you killed. Take a position out of the view of the enemy, within view of your team, and make sure you can rotate out when needed. Peek for nades and damage. Playing in the open is just stupid and shows why this person is bronze. And holy hell does this guy know Ana has no damage falloff?! Why does he keep running into the enemy?

I am a one trick mercy main in competitive I rank platinum I started feeling like sometimes mercy isn’t a good pick but I can’t play anyone else so I went and practiced on Ana and played open queue competitive and ranked gold should I risk playing Ana on role queue or should I wait until I rank higher on open queue? Edit: Any Ana tips I could use and if my dps can’t aim and there isn’t another healer and pharah or widow are threatening me can I ignore healing and focus on killing them I have good aim on Ana since I practiced in some workshop codes

just play ana on ranked and with the issue of pharamercy/widow, don't contest them unless your team are full and you can focus on dps-ing but always put your team first so if they're low focus on healing them and then go back to tryna contest the pharamercy/widow

he occasionally does swear. I can't speak for his streams because I very rarely catch them, but for his videos, I wouldn't categorize them as entirely family friendly in terms of language. I wouldn't feel comfortable telling your friend "nah you're good, emongg is a 100% safe choice." however, I would say it's on the rarer side. rarer meaning that I will actually notice emongg swearing lol my brain will actually register "oh, he said a cuss word!" whereas when I'm watching other people, it doesn't even register as swearing to me. however, it's not just him to keep in mind. he sometimes obviously does videos with other creators who do swear more freely like flats, seagull, etc. I would say his videos with Karq and fitzy are pretty safe. honestly whether emongg is a safe choice depends really on your friend's parents (and how old your friend is). if they're okay with the very occasional f-bomb, emongg is a good choice. he's definitely one of the safer choices out there, in terms of content you can watch with parents lol but if your friend is like, under 12, his parents probably won't be chill with any bad language so basically, I've written an incredibly unhelpful comment because I don't have a good answer lol it really depends on a lot of factors but I do think emongg is one of the safest bets out there
