8:03 got to find the right tempo, it’s allowed me to find whole new genres in music, I struggle to create in silence, it’s creating the correct atmosphere. I’ve discovered a Swedish rock swing orchestra Diablo swing orchestra as a result and Bach metal bands to name a few. Has to match the arts vibe 😊

Your work is lovely -- I accidentally wrote "lively" and it's that too. I especially appreciate how you talked about using colour. I'm working on seeing colour as blends, not solid tones, and I can use all the help I can get in changing my thinking.

For Christmas one year my parents got all the kids a jumbo pen..that had 24 COLOURS!! It was insane. Had very little ink per colour though. Still was a great Christmas gift.

For me, I'm doing a webcomic, and I get into the grove by adding ideas to notes and doing a very rough sketch. If it's a normal drawing, I watch tutorials and speedpaints, Somehow, seeing someone else draw makes me want to draw.

LoL! I’ve been using that pen all day. Warm colors are pretty good, I wish the green was more limy color but I already have dark greens BPP’s. Has a nice fine point, had to repair the body because of a crack in the threads, wouldn’t tighten up when it came loose. Used epoxy glue & tape, good as new.

I have recently tried sketching with coloured pens too. It is so difficult to know what colours fit where and the knowledge comes best from experience so practice makes perfect! And I'll keep practicing! Seriously you make me love art so much jess!

I have oftened wondered how hard it would be to purchase a cheap pen like this, but then replace the inks with cartridges from pens (and colors) I love. A create your own palette kind of scenario. I haven't had the courage to try this yet.

Beautiful work! I've actually purchased multi-colored pens lately to do the same thing you just did. To answer your question: When I was in my teens I could blast music while drawing. One summer, I drew a lot to AC DC, particularly Back in Black. Fast forward to now, I listened to You Tube Channels featuring interviews or talks about my favorite subject matters, but if I'm really honest with myself, I do my best work either in absolute peace and quiet or to classical music. At least during the initial stages of a drawing ( the constructing or block-in stage of the drawing) I prefer it to be quiet when I concentrate. In the later rendering stage then I'll listen to my favourite YT channel.
