It won't put a dent in our housing crisis but it will be transformative. I've cycled there 3 times so far and it already looks fantastic.

The background music is distracting and adds nothing to the documentary. Worse, it’s less watchable.

We appreciate your feedback on the background music. Please let us know if the music from our other videos is more pleasing to hear.

I agree, it is too loud for one.

People tune in to hear the information, not the needless, generic, often poorly mixed background music. Keep it simple.

20-25 years of construction? Wow. China can complete that job within 2 years max.

Thanks for watching it! The 20-25 year timeline might seem long, but it's all about making sure everything is right. Villiers Island is a big project focused on sustainability and creating a great community space.

Respect to China, but Chinese infrastructure isn't exactly known for being top-quality and stable. Things like this should take time and precaution.

By the time the construction is done, this place will absorb like only 0.1% of the population increase since lmao

Given the demand for Toronto housing, it won't solve the housing crisis. Housing projects also take time. Main purposes of Villiers Island are flood control/renaturalization and environmental cleanup. The housing here will only make a tiny dent in Toronto's needs.

Thanks for watching it! You're right that Villiers Island alone won't solve Toronto's housing crisis, but it's a step in the right direction. The main focus is indeed on flood control, renaturalization, and environmental cleanup, which are crucial for long-term sustainability. While the housing here is just part of the solution, it contributes to a bigger effort across the city to create more livable spaces.

The housing doesn't look very dense and it'll probably be super expensive. Is google still doing something here? And I wonder what will happen to rebel nightclub across the street because I'm sure that will piss people off at night like it does to the island people lol

Title correction 🙏 Toronto is Building a New 1 road neighborhood which will have the traffic of Liberty village
@PaulLynch713 ай бұрын
Did you watch the video? Only 25% of travel will be by car. There is already cycling infrastructure across the bridges and eventually streetcars will be incorporated. There are also plans for Go Transit and the new Ontario line. I don't think it will be anything like Liberty Village.

@@PaulLynch71 OK, then what's the status of the LRT line? Hint: It's not even mentioned in TTC budgets. So who's going to build it?
@PaulLynch712 ай бұрын
@@stephensaines7100the LRT will be an extension of the Queens Quay street car that currently ends at Union Station. With all the bureaucracy and red tape with the TTC, Local and Provincial Governments I anticipate it will be another nightmare like the Eglinton crosstown but if they are building housing for that many people they will absolutely need sufficient public transit.

I feel like this video repeated the same several sentences over and over, reworded. I prefer shorter more succint videos - I heard you the first tew times about the revitalizing, it being a flood plane, Don river, etc.
