Theme decks are very underrated, they aren't too expensive and depending on which one you get you can get some very competitive trainers and in some cases some pretty good pokemon. I love the charizard theme deck form team up and groudon from cosmic eclipse. Good vid trainer!

@3:11 Putting your glasses on really was a nice touch in my opinion. Also great start to this series. For those of you reading the comments I'm confident Trainer will cover this in his series @ 3:43 for the newer players; though you may like a bunch of different Pokemon it is alright to add plenty of variety to your deck to make it your own, but also consider the following. Learn about consistency. If you'd really like your deck to have a higher chance at doing what you want to more often then I'll give you a mission like Trainer has. Go out on your adventure, find a few Pokemon you really want to use get multiple of them. The simple reason is you'll increase your chances of drawing said cards you've chosen and be doing more often what you intended to vs getting discouraged on having overwhelming variety and not as many plays as you'd like. Train On!

Aaron, it's great to see you back on the channel, but if I may offer some constructive criticism? The content you've been putting out feels a little played out. We've seen you do how to play videos before, or how to utilize theme decks, card sleeve reviews, etc. It would be really great to see some new, fresh, dynamic content upon Trainer TV's return. For example, your thoughts on the current state of the game (i.e. this latest set has done a pretty good job of addressing power creep, to the point where there are some really fun non-EX/GX/V decks to play!), a Zoom session with Johnny and Adrizzy (or better yet, record yourselves playing the new 4-player Raid Battle game with Chris!), predictions on the new Darkness Ablaze set and what pre-release promos are the best, how freakin' cool the new Champion's Path set is with the gym badges, or maybe a livestream? I've fallen back in love with Pokemon Go in a big way after Go Fest this weekend and discovered the Trainer Tips channel, and it reminds me so much of Trainer TV back in the day in that even though it has a focus, it's really a "pokemon lifestyle" channel, as you once put it. I love, love, love the TCG, but feel free to cover other Pokemon properties, too. (Like the Sword & Shield video game!) I know it's hard to do as much during a pandemic, but don't be afraid to get creative! Anyway, thanks for all that you do, and I hope this inspires some ideas. Cheers!

I've found that theme decks are great to play when "competitive" decks in standard format get stale to me. I have a 7 year old son and we play theme decks against one another from time to time and it's fun. I enjoy one prize decks anyway. I usually play baby Blowns on PTCGO as a competitive deck. I recently purchased several theme decks to sleeve up for my son and I.

Hey so I’m getting a theme deck and I was really wanting the zeraora one but I don’t know if it’s even good or if that’s too “old” of a theme deck, any advice/input?
@serranop60
@serranop60 4 жыл бұрын
The Zeraora isn't that good of a theme deck and now that it is old most of the cards in most theme decks will rotate/ be banned in standard, but if you are just trying to learn I would recommend to pick up the Charizard theme deck from Team Up or the Groudon theme deck from Cosmic Eclipse. I wouldn't recommend any Sword and Shield theme decks yet because they'll most likely get better later in the era but the ones released right now aren't that good at least competitively. And later if you really want to try and become more competitive then you'll realize that no matter how much you try to add to the theme decks they won't be that good which is why when you slowly develop a knowledge for what's good and how to properly play you can build a competitive deck. For this I would recommend a Trainer's Toolkit and to later buy singles but remember to start small and work your way up to whatever card you want or whatever deck you want to build. Hope this helped and Good luck.

Hey trainer, ive only really played ptcgo and wonder what its like tk play in real life. When i play online, i often spend time reading my opponents cards. But how would that translate in real life? If you could answer this it would be awesome, thanks
@duelistx1076
@duelistx1076 4 жыл бұрын
Speaking as a judge and a player my perspective is this for real life. You can always ask to read cards and don't ever let your opponents rush you. It's different if they try to slow play on purpose and if you think they're trying to go for time call a judge over. I get asked alot when judging what the best play to make is and as a judge we're not allowed to tell you the moves to make, but we can explain what will happen should you choose to play/use cards and result of said plays. It's also chill if you're going to league and casually playing since you can vibe and chat while playing the game. Be it other fun Pokémon topics, work, life, etc. Online is alot of auto practice, but actually playing w/ someone remotely or in person it's more fun in my opinion. Hopefully I helped you get a more informed opinion on this topic. Train On!
