I liked the Jensen best, then the Webber and last the Fender speaker. By the way I have already bought a Jensen P10R 25W 8 ohm for my Princeton clone build.

For the clean sound I very slightly preferred the Jensen but for the overdriven sound the Weber was best hands-down. I have 3 Jensens and three Webers. On both brands, I noticed that the alnicos sounded great right out of the box and only improved slightly over time as they broke in. While on the other hand the ceramics were disappointing at first but then all became great as they aged. Another thing I've found is that at lower volumes alnicos USUALLY sound better than ceramic magnets. For my taste, ceramics need to be pushed a bit to sound their best. How loud you intend to usually run them is something to consider when selecting a speaker type.

I prefer the Weber but I am also an Alnico "snob". I swapped the Celestion 10" in my RI Vibro Champ with a Jensen Alnico. "Jensen" is the Fender sound...at least to my ears.

I don’t know, Tony, I don’t think that Weber speaker is cutting it. It’s really harsh. I’ll tell you one thing, it sounds amazing out of that 10” Princeton speaker, like it was about to explode, ala Keith Richard’s.

First of all…great idea using a looper pedal to take the “person” outta the equation…flipping back and forth, I prefer the Weber…sounds brighter and fuller…the stock speaker sounded like it had a pillow in front of it…btw…its hard using words to describe tone👍

In a clean sound, the Weber sounded nice but pushed the highs more than the Jensen (adjusting treble and bass would probably fix that). I found the Jensen separated frequencies better overall, followed by the Jensen. Fender isn't even in the same race. As far as dirty sound is concerned, they just mess with my hearing aid so I can't judge 😂. I think the Weber can save your amp, but only you can be the final judge of the sounds you like to come out of it.

@@addictedtogear lol i know you used bridge only on this comparison. I was asking how does it sound on the neck pickup. Unless, of course, you only use bridge all the time, which I doubt.

Yeah, the Weber sounds great. Huge difference! I think the higher preamp gain setting of the Super Sonic shows why I got rid of mine years ago. The preamp distortion just has a unpleasant "hairyness" that destroys most of the clarity of the sound. Some may like that sound, but you have to admit it has limited application. The lower gain setting with the Weber certainly sounded great and would be very useful.
