Hmmm illvget one as im intreagued, however maybe they should have provided this as a set of 2, one to check the slot to judge the correct depth then the other one could work as a file to cut the material. Both with the same arrangement, just 1 for checking the other to then cut material away

Nice review . I bought the Epi Dove , and when I finish playing I release the tension on the strings to relieve the bridge from lifting from the body . I had an Ibanez Hummingbird years ago and the bridge dod lift .

I bought me one of them SG special with the p90s, I couldn't get the damn thing intonated, then I found this guy on u tube he is a Luther he said take them set screws out of the bridge they don't do anything, And I've been trying to intonate that guitar with no prevail, but I did what he said I set the string height I polished the frets took them set screws out of the bridge Make sure the bridge is in there tight tuned it up and it is in perfect intonation I chime it or anything it is right on key and it plays beautiful now ! I found out you don't need a new bridge !

Hey Tony, watching the replay. I didn’t like the Boss blues driver either. I tried mine through a line 6 Catalyst amp. I am going to buy it again and try it through a tube amp. At the time I didn’t have a tube amp.

@@dewey7330 yeah, I’m not convinced about that pedal yet. Let me know how it turns out for you.

Let me summarise: You have that guitar for many years - no scratch on the body so far. So, no pickguard. And even if you scratch it after 10 years, you can always put a pickguard on and hide the scratches. So, no pickguard. And if you argue that now the finish is ruined UNDER the pickguard (you know, scratched after 10 years, then you put pickguard on), it is ruined anyway with the holes you are drilling into body. So, no pickguard.

OK ! Here are the couple of important features about the Firebird design. If you chose any Firebird knockoff (Epiphone or other) keep that in mind : _ (obviously) the body shape, the headstock shape. _ the 9-ply 24.75" scale length neck-through architecture : 9-ply neck with "wings" glued to the sides to form the body. Multi-ply necks are structurally extremely solid and stable and usually very resonant due to the resulting rigidity of the structure. So, if you want to be able to check if you're really dealing with a 9-ply neck-through Firebird, you will choose for a transparent finish (tobacco sunburst for instance) where you can actually see the wood under the finish. _ the "straight" string pull through the nut : the strings run straight from the stop bar tailpiece, through the bridge, through the nut, and to the tuners' posts : a straight string pull improves the tuning stability of any guitar. _ the "mini-humbuckers" : the slightly lower output than a standard humbucker and the closer coil spacing give a very distinct tone. And that's about it.

The blend knob is clearly wet/dry. That’s why it turns to vibrato when fully clockwise.

I bought one, barely used, for about $400 US. The previous owner had changed out the bridge and tailpiece for "Tone Pros" but everything else was stock. I had to have my luthier guy clean up the fret ends, which were gawdawful. But everything else is just great. I've never even adjusted the truss rod. The pickups are just wonderful. I love this guitar.

Please Tony. When you review guitars could you show some clean Tones as well as distorted ones. I'm a melodic guitar player and I would love to hear how some guitars sound in that setting... Thanks... You're a cool guy all the same.

Well if you live in Brazil like I do, and pay about US$ 1,300.00 for this Epi, there are plenty of reasons to baby it! Happy holidays everyone!

Pickguards on a Les Paul are a design flaw(ha!ha!). I prefer them without it. I feel the pickguard throws off the beautiful symetry of the body shape with that weird triangle shape thing laying on top of it. I wouldn't install the pickguard on yours because those 2 screw holes would feel uncomfortable for me to drill. Besides you already have the other Les Paul with the pickguard so why not enjoy both of them the way they are and have one of each?
@sega62s3 күн бұрын
Why would you not recommend it? Eddie Van Halen did just that, sand down his guitar necks and it feels good, I guess it’s a question of taste, you can always coat it back, or change neck if you fukup

Did that for nothing if the springs still hit and you dont like screw in trem arms by the way did you drill through the body ? You use a lot of double talk

Thanks for the detailed review. I bought one, but I have a problem... this device is pretty dependent upon your ability to HEAR it when it drops off the edge. But I have profound hearing loss.... even with expensive hearing aids I cannot hear the click, so I am trying to do it by feel. It's possible to do it that way, but it would be easier if I could hear it.
