Teller's faces get me every time. You can just tell how much he truly enjoys watching people do tricks.

ok I'm an old magician soI'm going to be pedantic they love watching magic the trick is simply the moves that make the trick work the magic is the whole presentation. so nice to see people enjoying magic

@@garyp4374 I guess it could be argued Teller doesn’t care about presentation, just the actual function behind individual tricks. (I’m well aware that’s not the case here though, just messing around.) I had never heard the distinction. Learn something new every day!

Thank you!! I was very happy with the show. Especially since I really admire Penn & Teller. And that‘s even an understatement. I think we saw the same ‚spaghetti western‘! The original title is „continuavano a chiamarlo Trinità“. Must be the one! 😎 Cheers!

One part that I have not yet seen anyone talking about is the puff of magic smoke from the opened orange. That moment would not have meant as much without it. My only magic practice partner has passed on, and he taught me to always think of the special tiny details that would really make a composition worth being proud of sharing. You gave me a good memory of him with this performance, and I thank you.
@jamesrgoes4 жыл бұрын
I originally thought the puff was actually oils from the skin when he pulled it open but looking at it again it was probably some sort of powder placed in tbe orange to appear as smoke
@heatshield4 жыл бұрын
@@jamesrgoes you know what? I didn't think of that because it just appeared like too much "smoke", and magical. I actually used that property of orange peels in one of my acts before. It's even flammable. Kind of fun to show kids at Christmas (or any place you can find an orange and a candle) that you can make miniature fireballs too. I'll re-watch now. I don't think it was the peel but you could be right. If it was the peel, it was accompanied by a pressure release sound , which makes me think the orange was whole until that point in time. That would be even more impressive. Have to clean up all the insides real quick and lap them. That thought crossed my mind for a moment the first time, but I almost just dismissed it, imagining more tricky ways to accomplish the same result. Watching now. Thanks for the response, bud. 👊😎

my best guess is 2:13 is when the juice was put in cup using german engineering, perhaps involving a hidden hole under the glass, something inserted into the glass to keep juice going in but not coming out, through the bottom and the table rigged up with a pipe connected to the bottle of juice in his jacket

I believe the glass is gimmicked with a tube in the stem allowing a mechanism built within the table to shoot the juice in the glass...notice how the glass is placed at the very center above the tubular frame of the table..
@JDeWittDIY4 жыл бұрын
The glass doesn't have to be gimmicked. After he places the paper tube the second time, he pushes a button under the table. This activates a tube that rises from the table and dispenses the juice. As for the orange, it's a force. If she choose a real orange, the choice was to discard it, not to use it. Until she picks the right one.

@@trapezius77 "Multiple outs" meaning an equivoque or magician's choice. We don't know in advance that he's going to cut open the first orange the volunteer points to, so if she hadn't pointed to that one, he'd've had some process to choose it anyway. But he got lucky as Penn said.

@topasmagic If I may suggest something: You can make the button press (for the orange juice) less noticeable. There are many ways to do this, like for example using a capacitive button embedded into the pedestal plate. Or using a remote control hidden inside your jacket pocket. You can even make the button "smarter" by using a timer or a flow meter, or even a weight sensor. Then you press the button only once, and it stops after x seconds (timer), or it stops after x mililiters, or it stops after the weight of the glass has increased x grams.

@Red Dwarf i think penn saying 'lucky with an orange' actually implies there would have to be other outs--ie she actually ended up picking the empty orange so he didnt have to bother with anything else, but had she picked one of the other 2 he had some kind of trick he was going to do to get the right one. could've been as simple as the one she picks is the one that gets thrown away and then she has to pick another one, or could've been some kind of slight of hand to switch. anyway, that's just my interpretation of 'lucky with an orange' lol. if it was actually luck, that means he would've had a different plan for if she had picked another orange haha.
