As an American citizen by birth - I support this decision and law , unfortunately people go to several extents to attain citizenship including having a child , once citizenship is attained parents separate and a child does NOT deserve to be an object for citizenship! A Russian girl I know did this and separated from the child’s father when the baby was 1 month old and she became a citizen! Shameful 😥

USA isn't India- USA is a country of immigrants for and by immigrants. 100s and 1000s are not doing this and what you are describing is called visa fraud if they enter on a tourism visa to have a baby here in the US. This is a constitutional change and these kind of changes are very hard to achieve because 2/3 majority is required in both house and senate. Illegal immigrants are now a problem of late creating so many hassles to the prospective country than becoming an assets. Even for countries like India, suffering a great intellectual loss due to brain-drain, should be in quota system. India itself is a sufferer due to illegal immigrants. Similarly in Canada lots of immigrants have created chaos, involved in drug and immoral activities are turning into liability both for upcoming country and later for the country they had left. So there should be clear and thoughtful law in this regard based on the needs of a country wishes to accept.
