@@Kyumifun basically there were hidden messages across some of hbc's videos, community posts, and streams, written in a "fire language" where each flame decodes to a certain letter (+prononciation of that letter). the first one was in "is bill cipher in owl house?" released 28 april 2023 (so 1 year ago on sunday); the next video with them ("how many hits does it take to kill the mad dummy?") was the first one people notice and had enough information to start decoding the meaning. it's kinda officially ended, though it still gets referenced (the last 2 community posts had flames that together decode to "HIYA", which was a prominent flame message used in the TPU streams)

For the sans bones timing thing, I feel you. Every single person I talked to said jumping as you hit the left walls always works. But it only worked around a fourth of the time for the chat, despite the inputs being the same.

@@HaphazardousSpace in that case it must be different on version 1.08. either way, holding every direction wouldn't work because in undertale (or possibly gamemaker) left/up overpowers right/down, so holding all 4 arrow keys at the same time makes you go up-left, when we want to go right.

I remember being the grunt that did the easier first phase of the fight and then called in the more skilled phase 2 crew when I was done. It was so awesome to watch them all coordinate on that final attack, so much planning went into it and I was super excited to be in the chat witnessing it as it unfolded

in case you want to know, the way (turn+1)%2==0 works is that % (modulo) is checking the remainder of (turn+1) when divided by 2; how high it is above a multiple of 2. this will be 0 on an even number and 1 on an odd number, and because it adds 1 to turn beforehand, odd numbers become even and even numbers become odd, which makes it trigger on odd turns its weird toby didnt just do turn%2 == 1, though, which would do the same thing

To get the effect that you wanted of just healing every turn instead of healing every other turn, you could have removed lines 67, 68, and 76 (using 3:42 for reference), which would have made the game not check if the turn number was odd. The line of code that you didn't understand, line 65, was probably responsible for ensuring that the heal occurred at the start of your turn, as opposed to after you performed an action, or during the monster's turn (I'm guessing myfight is what state you're in (choosing an action, performing an attack, viewing the dialogue after performing an act, etc), and mnfight is what state the monster's in (waiting for their turn, pre-attack dialogue, attacking, etc.), which would explain why the line of code you randomly selected caused healing at weird points in your turn; it also uses myfight and mnfight). In theory, to get the effect you were aiming for, you probably ought to have left line 65 alone, but in practice it may have been for the best that you altered it, since it lets you heal after the menu bones.

Well, a Human SOUL is more than just Determination in a jar, it has "SOUL power", which is what is used to shatter/cross the barrier. Otherwise a marginally more Determined Human would be able to cross it, since just having one extra Monster SOUL is apparently enough, and we know Monsters are *WAY* less Determined than Humans.

Maybe it is like gathering enough matter to either create a black hole or a star but in the sense of energy. The "star" could be a soul, and the black hole... well, it could mean the roaring is equally possible. Speaking of, maybe fountains may be related? Idk it might explain why Kris can move without a "soul' for limited time. Like a battery that barely has a charge.

Ok so I am in no way a coder and I only ever codded some basic algorithm in python but i think (i'm really dubious tho) for the frequency issue it could've went like if ((((global.turn +1) % 2) == 0) || ((global.turn % 2) == 0)) And then the rest of the code ? So basically if the turn is and odd number OR an even number it heals but that's just my guess tho. Another solution could've been to simply erase the line that checks the number of the turn like someone already said in the comments or (once again I am NOT sure about it) to fix a condition that would always be true like if (global.turn > 0) I don't know how the battle system works but if when you start a battle it automatically starts at turn no 1 it could work ? or if (global.turn ≥ 0) if you start at turn no 0 I kinda feel like my comment sound a little rude but it's not, I know coding is really hard for non coder and you honestly did an amazing job for the whole twitch chat play undertale thing so yeah have a nice day :)

Chat had access to a 92 heal on each turn still, just not an overheal. Still, very impressive. Massive shoutout to the legends in chat who managed this.

To make it heal you every turn rather than every other turn: Change (((global.turn + 1) % 2) == 0) to (((global.turn + 1) % 1) == 0) (or if global.turn is an integer then you can just replace it with (true) unless that language doesn’t allow it) To fix the overheal: Change global.hp += 1 to global.hp = global.maxhp I haven’t looked at the code, but I think that the part you copied and pasted was for setting the soul position in the selection menu (since the non-fight buttons are not aligned horizontal with the selection menu). I think global.myfight is the orange button selected (0-3) and global.mnfight is either something to do with the monster’s turn that is set to 0 when their turn ends
