Western gaming as a whole is a nightmare scenario. I just can’t believe that Microsoft, with unprecedented revenue and 3 TRILLION in the bank, is flushing the Xbox name down the toilet. When Sega left the console industry and went 3rd party, that was as a company $500mil in debt after 3 years in the red, having just poured blood, sweat, and tears into the absolute best games they could produce in hopes it could give the Dreamcast a fighting chance. And when that failed, the dying president of the Sega gave his $700mil of stock to the company to keep it alive. Meanwhile MS decided to abandon any form of Xbox exclusivity just because some shareholders got pissy that Xbox stopped growing year-over-year

Xbox is the only company with first party allowing new games, sony has only remasters and remakes and a couple sequels. Gaming has fell to the GAS problem,and the majority of people are playing minecraft, roblox , fortnite , and warzone and are happy with just that. I have been saying that during Xboxone. I brought two Xboxone to give that brand a try but i find myself trading it in and the other one I gave it a friend. None of their games keep me on the platform

That's fair, most of the games from last gen, and this gen are a particular kind of game. I would say even with the Bethesda publishing they quired, it was kinda more of "xbox's style" of game. It wasn't until ABK with things like CoD (even though that is very much a an xbox style game , that being a MP shooter). But all their individual studios they have are all a particular game style, not all the same genres and stuff, but similar style or presentation, and that's besides whether someone thinks those games are bad or good or whatever.

What I would if I was in charge right now and couldnt go back in time and change things: 1)Reduce the XSX/XSS to $399/199 2) Get rid off paid online 3) Bring in the die hard Gears/Halo YT community to work on the next games 4)Find a way to make every back compact game 4k60 5) Fix the loose thumbsticks on the controller 6)Instead of buying studios, buy the people who were behind the great games during the 360 era 7) Make all PC ports DRM free You cant heal someone with terminal cancer but u can atleast make the rest of thier lives an enjoyable experience.

How do you even measure a hit for gamepass? Lets say a game costs $300mil to make. It comes out on gamepass and 10 million people pay for gamepass for one month, beat the game and unsubscribe. Is the game a success or a failure? Is it the developers fault that players didn't keep their subscription for their single player game? Gamepass only made sense for games as a service. One subscription that gives you access to World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, Destiny(when they still had it) etc. As an added bonus maybe your none games as a service games drop on the service a year after launch. As it is now gamepass is just welfare gaming that could have only been sustained because of the pockets of the trillion dollar parent company.

Once in a blue moon MS makes a good game like Ori, Sunset Overdrive, Psychonaughts 2, Hi Fi Rush, Halo Infinite, Age Of Empires 4, and Flight Simulator. Also Forza Horizon is pretty much the best racer around. Unfortunately MS makes more flops than they make bangers and despite MS being some 5 Trillion Dollar company MS game output in terms of both quantity and quality are terrible and a joke compared to Sony and Nintendo. Sony and Nintendo have their fair share of flaws and negatives. Not every game Sony and Nintendo makes is good. In fact sometimes they even make average 7/10 at best games. Personally Nintendo has an annoying habit of milking Mario, Zelda and Pokémon too often while selling underpowered gimmicky consoles. Sony relies way too much on 3rd person cinematic action games and are pathetic when it comes to multiplayer. But regardless of Sony and Nintendos issues most of the games that they came out with on the PS4, PS5 and the Switch were good games. With MS most of their games are garbage with the once in a while MS makes a good game. I’ve been gaming on Xbox since the Original Xbox. The OG Xbox was great and the 360 was one of the best consoles of all time and really brought online multiplayer and modern conveniences to the gaming world. It’s a shame that the Xbox One was a failure and the XSX only real accomplishment is just being better than the Xbox One but still not great. My XSX spends most of the time collecting dust. I consider the XSX a 7.5/10 console at best.

That doesn’t excuse the switch’s blatant flaws. Being super underpowered, outdated online with barebones features that they decide to charge for all of a sudden, subpar emulators, and non existent multiplat support and even when they do get a multiplat it’s overpriced and barely runs decently. Nintendo can still do portability and 1st party games but they need more competitive hardware, basic features and some solid multiplat support. It also wouldn’t kill Nintendo to introduce and achievement system.

Once this is launched, the NEW standard for gaming will be said Windows Gaming OS! The Rog ally’s, Levon region go and other handheld PCs will now run on that OS making handheld/hybrid gaming more user friendly just like the steam deck! As devs focus more of their efforts on having their games on PC, the place to play will be on that OS ! Everyone is laughing now at Microsoft because they’re focused on right now, Microsoft is laughing in the background because they know they are about to DOMINATE the gaming space ! Sony’s ownership of PlayStation is ACTUALLY who we should all be worried about! Sony will soon have to sell off the PlayStation division to either Tencent, Apple, Meta, Amazon or Google….. My problem with Sony is the lack of variety. 90% of their library consists of casual 3rd person cinematic action games with stealth elements and once in a while they’ll release a GT game or something different like HD or Astrobot. I can’t remember the last time Sony had a JRPG, 2D Platformer, FPS, Fighter, or a Racer that wasn’t a live service Microtransaction filled broken disaster like GT Sports and GT7 were. I miss the old Sony where we use to get games like LBP, SOCOM, Jak & Daxter, Medievil, Sly Cooper, Warhawk, Patapon, Ape Escape, Wipeout, and use to be the king of JRPGs. Or Sony charging more for PSN when they haven’t released any worthwhile multiplayer games.

How gamepass should be utilized by Xbox is for THIRD party games that are 2-3 years old. if they wish to have their first party titles in there fine. put all the ones you can't buy on there anymore such as the Xbox 360 games or OG xbox games in there. put games that were 3-4 years old into Game pass that is owned by Microsoft. they need to stop plugging their brand new games into this service. its literally killing them. they could get more money out of selling these games. if they wanted to do day and date to XGP then fine charge 25 bucks MONTHLY. you don't see Sony dropping their brand new games with in the first year into their service. they know that their profit comes from selling software not services. the services is a boon. these game devs would actually have something to work toward if they got a great game to sell off to the customers.

I'm someone that wants to see gaming succeed on all platforms. I'm so confused why Xbox has committed to Gamepass how they have? They have basically thrown away all game sales just for the sake of putting games day one on Gamepass? Why? That seems like the most destructive strategy especially if Xbox is constantly complaining about sales, profits and saying they are not able to afford to support game studios. Xbox should not release new games day one on Gamepass. Xbox will never get the money they hope from going this Gamepass direction. (They should only put newer games on there only after a certain amount of time) It seems SO Stupid that Xbox would THROW AWAY all Call of Duty game sales. Just so they can put call of duty day one on Gamepass? You actually have to have brain damage in order to think that would be a good idea?
