Idea I had: Dragon monotype for this game, but the catch is that you can't use Dragon-type psuedo-legendaries or legendaries in general. Since this is up to Gen 8 you have a good amount of options. Kingdra, Dracovish/Dracozolt, Mega Altaria, the list goes on for a while.

This is the best rom hack I have played by far, fire red was my first pokemon game and to be able to play it again but with a more competitive style definitely makes it alot more enjoyable, not to mention the fact that there is alot of replay ability as you can do so many different team types and just sink time into it. Great video! Loved watching you playthrough this :D I've tried this hack before, and it makes me really sad its so high quality, cause i absolutely H. A. T. E. it. Not because its badly made, but because the playstyle it wants you to adopt is absolutely not mine at all whatsoever, because i like picking a team of 6 specific pokemon to use throughout the game, and like.....the 6 (i had 3 of them by misty, and 2 were second forms, and one was dottler....) i wanted to use aren't all immediately findable, and are weak early, so to get past misty and surge i had to literally just pick up random shit hoping it'll get me past it. It probably will be harder than Emerald Kaizo for me, because you can still cheese Emerald Kaizo with stuff like Wailord, Metagross and Exeggutor. Crystal Kaizo, Dark Raising Kaizo, and Clover are all harder than Emerald Kaizo. Emerald Kaizo is the hardest _most well-known_ ROM hack (before Radired), but people notice its unfairness before its exploits.

Been playing this game a lot the past few weeks. Finished a regular run, and am currently juggling three monotypes in Dark (just post-Clair), Bug (beginning of Silph), and Water (just post-Surge). Something I love about this game is the replay value due to the sheer amount of options you have before you. The randomised eggs also can be a nice surprise (got a Sobble from one in my Water run, great I didn't have to wait a bit longer for that one)

Just a little tip : Drapion can have Battle Armor as ability, which makes them immuned to crits. Against Koga, that would have been the hardest counter as Wicked Blow would have gone from 135 power (80 base power, x1.5 because STAB, x2.25 crit with sniper, and 0.5x since it's resisted) to only 60, dealing less than half the damage it did here, and on top of that, it's the single move his Drapion has, meaning after 5 uses he'll just spam struggle and be completely inoffensive.

I had never heard of this rom hack until this video and now I really want to play it! I never got SwSh so I haven't really messed around with the newer Pokemon, so now I really want to try them out in this game. I'm so glad you went for poison types since they are pretty underrate considering how good defensively they are and you really hammered in why with Wheezing and Toxapex. I kind of want to see you do elite four monotype challenges with this game since it has more than double the options than Emerald Kaizo, but I know that's a lot of work.

Because switching builds is so easy here, I found (for mono Poison, mono Dark, and just regular gameplay), a Drapion is a great counter for Koga's, but a different build. High Defense, resisting Dark, and Battle Armor to prevent crits means you take laughable damage from Wicked Blow and can Bulldoze it down with a couple few hits.
