Lilly you won't kill the scoby, as long as your hands are clean and you don't put hot water into the jar. Putting it in the fridge slows down the fermentation to almost a stop. It would have to be in the fridge for a while before it would kill it. The scoby babies at the bottom are dead so you can remove them so your brew tastes cleaner. The new scoby forms on top. You can peel old layers off your scoby too. If you continuously brew like me sometime in an ice tea jar made of glass with plastic spout, you should clear sedamat and old scoby often so it isn't clogging it up or making it taste too strong. Good job on your brew!! 😊

I grew up with my grandma making homemade mashed potatoes for Sunday dinners, and they are one of my top 3 all time favorite comfort foods. I never thought making them could be so complicated until I saw this and all the steps the chefs made 😂. It's like, just drain your potatoes, throw some milk, butter, sour cream, salt and pepper and use a hand mixer to blend. Done. Josh's complete chaos and Lily's descent into a sad childhood story with a segue into a Sporked ad killed me 😂. Kendahl's segment was adorable and we really need her and Emily together on an episode of Fancy Fast Food. I died laughing when Jordan found out their girlfriend was the imposter and immediately went back to eating those potatoes. This was such a great episode 😂😂😂

Science/cooking fact: if you cook your potatoes at a simmer instead of a boil your consistency of your mash will be smoother than silk. This is because the gentler cook causes less of the potatoes cells to rupture leading to a smooth texture that still stands up, rather than a stiff sandy texture. My best way to make mashed potatoes if you like them smooth and fluffy, I mash them with a masher first, add a little milk, and then beat it with an electric hand mixer on slow until it's mixed together, then add your salt and butter and other condiments. Just make sure not to mix it for too long or the starches get tough.

I’ve watched both the BCC Club and Mythical Kitchen for awhile. I had no idea Jordan is Kendahl’s partner 🙈 Roasting Kendahl’s potatoes without realizing it was hilarious. The horror I imagined on everyone’s faces when Josh poured the mashed potatoes into the food processor 😂
