@@ethancash8870 The Mughals had been overlord of about 3/4th of Indian subcontinent. Controlling about 25%+ of world economy. These led them to a life of opulence and grandeur. In an incident one Mughal general couldn't pay his troops money but had some 500 personnel dancers with him in his tent all the time. The Marathas were farmers from Deccan and thought it was perfect time to strike for a Hindu Rule. They succeeded made an empire about 3 million Sq km large. But just like the Mughals they laid waste to their life's with hedonism. In a crucial battle a Maratha general couldn't arrive because he was having a second marriage.

What an awesome story! Heroic Samurai that set out to take down a monster only to become just as bad over time, and with the cycle of violence, you turned CK3 into a Kurosawa film! And the reference to the Cult video and occasional jokes, this has to be your greatest video yet!

Even china isn't in the main map both because of things like innacuracies in government structures and scope creep (since if you have china you might as well have the bits south of it connected to india, and then you might as well... you end up including a lot of the pacific islands, which we have jack shit documentation on in this time period.), but also because China would add a LOT of characters and cause the game to become laggy faster.

I love your new Shogunate video as an author of the mod. Also, thank you so much for using other my mods with it. The theme of this video is exciting because it is not something that ordinary Japanese players would think of. The Sengoku period ended in 1615, followed by a period of peace until the Meiji Restoration in the mid-19th century.

Actually Oda was kinda "good" - well ok a lot of War´s but he also was kinda revolutionary. He even tried to break the Caste System - the more People did the more Promotions they got. He was big in Talent Promotion, wich back in 1560 was an No Go in a Caste System. And his Economy was very decent, he kinda was the first Lord in Japan who had a constant Army / career Soldiers. Other Lords had during harvest times no Peasants for their Armys. Oh and one of his Nicknames was "Airhead" in Original "utsukemono" -- Again , a lot of People back then didn´t liked his Style @ all. I literaly mean his "Style" - People even dind´t liked how he dressed. A Land stuck in Traditions and a Person who thinks outside the Box and has an Army after becoming Adult. What could possibly go wrong ? Seriosly , who didn´t saw that comin ?

Nobunaga surely didn't want to break the caste system which is benefited him, it is called meritocracy or promotion based on merit, talent, skill. the other meritocracy system adopted by Qin Dynasty, Mamluk Sultanate, Mongol Empire, etc
@ragnarx88
@ragnarx88 2 жыл бұрын
@@widjiro He acted clearly against the Caste System with a lot of Decisions, wich brought him a lot of "not" Fans -- Breaking "rules" , acting against a System - call it what u want but he was definitly not a Fan of a Caste System and made no secret of it. Yes he used it - So would every Ruler back then - but I see a Man who definitly tried to change a Nation stuck in old shackeling Rules. In the world of feudal lords, which is characterized by traditions and elaborate manners, Nobunaga shocked with his unorthodox attitude and his non-conformist behavior -- His governor, Hirate Masahide, committed suicide in 1553 to correct him for his odd behavior. Your own govenour, killes himself to correct your behavior. That says a lot. Call it changing then, but he tryed hard to "change" the Caste System. I stay with breaking because Oda gave a f*** what others thought about him, and did his thing, if necessary with a Sledge Hammer

@@ragnarx88 sounds like your history source come from mangas or movies. if he really that reformist and hate the caste system, why his samurai still rules his land on his behalf? he just unusual man for his era, that still follow the rules.

It will be interesting how they work Japan into the game since the Shogunate period occurs well after the games usual endpoint and the Shogun was the defacto leader while the Emperor was the Dejure, albeit powerless ruler. I think the most likely scenario would be that the Emperor of Japan would be similar to the Pope, as he is supposed to the head of the Shinto faith if I remember correctly and above the day-to-day administration of the country in this time period.
