Great job with her guys. I really can't tell from the video, but when the dog comes to you for comfort when coming across strangers out in public areas, don't immediately comfort them, it is better to ignore them and continue to act normally, the dog will quickly figure out that other humans are not there to hurt (remember her back story that caused this issue, you don't want to support that) you want to get her mind set to the new way of living, which you guys did great with.

Oh, quick thing, but important when dealing with strays or abused dogs. When washing them, you don't want to wash them with their collar on, they can be expensive I get that, but, for a dog coming out of an abused home or from being a stray, a collar is a safety blanket, they take it as " when I didn't have a collar I was in the world, starving, having to fend for myself, with a collar I have a home. Some dogs will react very badly to having the collar taken off, then throw in having bath/shower, it just becomes an all around negative experience, so get a cheap dog washing collar for them for when they need to have a bath/shower.

4:04 she might not give you her paw whenever you have your hand flat, since you trained her with your hand closed together with the treat inside she’ll think that you have a treat and give you like a fist bump. You could always call it “fist bump” since it makes sense too. My explaining might not be that great I apologize for that 😭

she looks like she would like "crawl" i tell my dogs "get low" after she lays down pull the treat towards you and tell her to crawl... keep her belly on the ground. its funny when my 75 pound mutt does it she stretches and pulls herself...i only do that in the house. i had a mini schnauzer that would ride in the drivers seat with me not on my lap just beside me... not on main roads just around side streets.... I say "cop" he would duck..lol My full size aussie 2 years old he puts his front paws on ur arm and put his head between his legs through the hole "pray" is the command and he does it very often... it is cute too.

When I go out walking, I often see people walking their dogs. I always enjoy petting the dogs, who usually insist on it. I have a little trouble with pit bulls, they always want to lick my face off.
