Exactly!! The comments under this video highkey pissed me off, tbh. They're all going off on Sydney and how she "shouldn't have gotten a dog/pit" and "how bad of an owner she is" as though people didn't even watch or listen to the beginning of the video! Because this all started due to the mother's lack of forethought and impulse control! Not only did this mother IMPULSE BUY and bring home a puppy. But she brought home a pittie (incredible dogs, but definitely need training, structure, and the right family as they can be quite high energy!) - all because she "always wanted a pitbull" 🙄 Then she immediately decides to give up on the dog only *TWO MONTHS* into owning her because of an attack on a family member's Shih Tzu (which I understand, to an extent, but giving up on an animal is and almost always should be a *last resort*. Besides, there's a reason SOME form of training as a puppy or even as an adult dog is important!!). Another thing that made me so mad was the beginning when talking about the mother and her impulsive choice to bring home a puppy. _"At first, my mom was all about Nani. She said she always wanted to have a Pitbull. Then it became too much for her to handle, so I took over and took control of trying to take care of her."_ -Sydney _"I love Nani to death but I couldn't handle her and was ready to give up. But Sydney wouldn't let me so she took over all the responsibilities."_ -The Mom Like oh, okay, so instead of getting her proper training, socialization, behavioral help, structure, etc - you choose to give up on her. Not only is that not fair to the dog but it's not fair to the daughter. What's even more frustrating (and what became more evident as I got further into the video) was the mother definitely seemed to still want the dog - just, y'know, _without_ the inherent responsibilities that comes with owning a dog. 🤬 So much so that she's okay with letting her teenaged daughter take over ALL the responsibilities of the dog that *SHE* (the mother) brought into their home because she "always wanted a pitbull"! Ugh. It's just all kinds of infuriating. Like dude. Don't get a dog (or even a pet) if you can't/won't take responsibility for it nor do what you can when or if a problem ever arises.

Not sure what to think when the mom says “I always wanted a pitbull.” Something is wrong there. That combined with the father’s threat to open the door and shove the dog out in the street, and the girl’s response to that indicates a family I’d want no part of.
@coloraturaElise2 ай бұрын
I think the mom is weak and insecure, and feels that having a powerful dog will make her stronger. Her over-reaction to the bite the dog got shows an unhealthy relationship with the animal.
@grenade8572Ай бұрын
@@coloraturaElise Well, I had dogs all my life, and can handle them all, even the one who were already bad-behaved they came to my house. But I would DEFINITELY be over reacting if one of them was injured. Once, my dog and another one were unleashed; they fought but, as none of them was really agressive, it was just a "harsh conversation" without any injury -- but even when I realized it, I was still shimmering.

The dad’s threat was hardly an indication of his dysfunction. It was a response to the dysfunction with his wife and daughter. He was frustrated as can be.

The father needs to leave, and quickly. The mother and daughter didn't respect his decision to not get a dog, and then she said she'd choose the aggressive dog over her father. The boyfriend made a GREAT choice to get outta dodge.

I'm not worried about the couple's breakup. I am sure that many young ladies would be interested in a young man who wants to learn about how to be a great dog person; seems to possess a patient, caring personality; and is pretty easy on the eyes.

Commenting to please the algorithm gods: You're right she doesn't have the ability, but the only way she'll learn is if she tries by herself. I think part of the reason she is so inept is because mommy and daddy have been jumping in too much.

This has nothing to do with age. I walked a bigger dog at the age of 14. You have to be able to show these types of breeds whose the boss once they get out of control. So yes, bring your belt. You can't feel sorry for the dog in that moment because an out of control breed like that could turn into a killing machine if not handled accordingly.
@TammyFriend72504 ай бұрын
It's not chronological age that is important. I meet and controlled 2 German shepherds in 2 different areas of the country. One when I was15 the other at 17. They were both dodgy but I handled them both, but after I left each area, both owners sent them to the vet.
