Just to clarify the killing of the Cat in GTA V was due to the input lag of the game, as you may know GTA V can occasionally suffer with large delays between inputs and actions, this is why the games' movements seem sporadic in the few seconds of footage previous to this. I also do not have autosave enabled so no cats were permanently harmed during the making of this video.....I felt this needed to be said.

I just wanted to say I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 three years ago from a friend for around 150$ (Rs 11,000 in India) which had the following specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 Dual Core @2.00ghz 4GB DDR2 Ram @667mhz (Dual channel) iGPU (Intel GMA x3100) 1280x800 14.1" TN panel Seagate 250GB HDD @5400rpm and had Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (Unactivated). So was I fooled or it was worth it as it had no dirt or damage to consider. It was released back in 2007-08. Thanks for any advice.

Yep, certainly! The cheapest I was able to get a laptop for was about £16 and that is a Fujitsu from 2006... which can't really do too much. Spotify is OK, KZbin isn't (certainly for anything above 360p!), but at least it can play DVDs and CDs. Really lightweight games (such as Peggle, from the late 2000s) will run but nothing of the like being tested here. Oh, and this is a Windows XP machine. Forget Windows 7 or 10, they won't work.

This could actually be upgraded if required, the CPU can be upgraded to a suitable Core 2 Duo, which has more power; the RAM can be upgraded to 8GB DDR2 and the HDD can be upgraded to any 2.5 HDD or SSD. You can even upgrade the wireless B/G card to a newer, B/G/N card (or even a wireless AC card). I've bought a Dell Studio 1745 and will have great times upgrading it to its maximum potential, and using it as my Windows 7 laptop. Also, this was well worth it even for just the 500GB hard drive. It does look like a fairly old laptop but it isn't a vintage laptop as these would go back to machines such as the old IBM Thinkpad laptops with original Pentium 133 and 166MHz with the latter having the mmx instruction set and back in the mid to late 90's the original Pentium laptops typically ran Windows 3.1 or 95 and one I had was blistering fast (at doing nothing) with it's 32MB RAM, although some of the RAM was for the onboard VGA, leaving less then 30MB for the OS. I think it all depends on how old you are and what you grew up with and how many rigs you have built, overclocked and all this sort of malarkey. Not having a dig at all btw mate......just the way I speak & type can seem like I am having a go but it's not intentional.

I received a Dell Studio for free quite a few years ago. Turns out it was an upgraded model that has a 1920x1200 panel. I was absolutely stoked. It was tremendously useful for clerical work. But the included T54xx CPU was slow and the measily Radeon Mobility 3450 just can't even come close to driving the full panel. I would recommend doing what I did, though, and that is putting in an SSD and something like a P8600 CPU. I bought one from eBay for £10 and combined with the SSD it made a substantial difference to overall system performance. These are nice laptops, just a shame they're not Nehalem era...

The main boot drive in my 2007 XPS Dell 420 finally died after 10 years of use. It’s a cheep fix but since my computer was 10 years old I thought I’d try something a bit more modern. I got a Minix Neo 383-4. I coupled it with a 256 Samsung 256GB solid state drive. The new machine doesn’t make any noise at all. I was using the XPS in the office as a media PC for years and now that the new PC is here I’m super happy about how quiet it is. It’s comparable in performance but the addition of USB 3 ports, a solid state HDD and small footprint has me sold. I don’t want another old PC. I don’t care how cheep they are.
