man my teacher had one of these but she upgraded. I rember that someone tripped on the charging cable and it really fell 4 feet and landed on the screen and everyone was just awstruck and the tacher just shruged & picked it up, it worked like if nothig happened :-0

Being that it has a touchscreen, it would be interesting to see if Windows 8 or 10 would run on here.

8.0 should, but 8.1 and 10 won't due to the graphics chip. ATI/AMD graphics chips older than the HD 5000 series don't support 8.1 or 10 so they have to run with poor MS update supplied drivers. Those simply don't work worth a darn for the most part.

That's not correct! I got Integrated HD 4000 graphics with Windows 10 and the drivers provided in the BIOSTAR's website for Windows Vista works just fine with Windows 10. Also tested SAPPHIRE HD 3450 512MB with Windows 10 and catalyst center is installing the drivers perfectly fine to Windows 10 and it all works without any problems.

Sali Ali, I'm glad it's working for you, but it has never worked for me. CCC will install, but the driver will either fail to install, will cause instability, doesn't provide full functionality, or get's replaced by MS. I've tried it on over 50 laptops with older ATI/AMD graphic chips and none worked worth a darn. Most of those had an integrated 3000 or 4000 mobile chip.

I've an AMD Radeon 6600m & 6700m series, one of the so not supported chips, but It works perfectly with "modded" drivers.

Yes it's perfectly correct actually, the old mobility X chips have no drivers for Windows 10. They did up until one of the recent updates that completely broke it having black screens on logon screen with the inability to even use the PC. This laptop stands a tiny chance.

Pretty neat. I still use a Pansonic Toughbook CF-52 Mk.II to this day on Windows 10, since it has a more powerful Core 2 Duo chip in it and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics. Works pretty well at emulating PlayStation 1 at 1920x1200 honestly :P

Laptop gpus are dependant on the manufacturer releasing updates. Fortunately the omega drivers worked even better for older radeon gpus.

Manjaro Linux (Arch based) would run like a dream on this thing, also you could have probably tweaked the bios settings to get that SSD (or any SSD) working, although high capacity HDDs are much cheaper

Agreed that can be tricky, the inside of the one I got looks almost new, but the bottom needs a few touch ups(will just repaint the entire bottom), and the top needs some Meguiars Plastx to try, and buff out the few scratches, but I also have the Intel version that's preinstalled with ChromeOS that's in 98% new condition beyond a small crack around the HDMI port I rarely use anyway. I just keep saved searches of stuff like this so when they pop up cheap I can grab them.

I'm curious to know why the first her drive you tried to put in this would not work? I've got a Panasonic ruggedized laptop with a very old hard drive and would like to if possible, replace it with a solid-state hard drive. That machine you got there, you flat-out can't even get any more closest I could find from that brand with her drive on eBay would run you about 150 American, plus the shipping. I don't know how you got one that good under 100 the Panasonic that I'm using. I got by accident where the guy had made a mistake in the listing. He ended up selling about nine of them before he noticed the mistake with a hard drive running windows XP. These machines will normally run you about 200 and with the power supply and shipping. I got the thing shipping and everything for about 130 Canadian which is pretty much unheard of for a Dual core Panasonic ruggedized laptop that has a fresh operating system power supply and everything. Generally there sold without the hard drive Or an operating system. Would really love to grab that laptop if you're interested in selling it for the same price you paid for it. I should point out the reason it wasn't running Windows Vista is because the government have a lot of problems with Windows Vista! Anybody running a ruggedized laptop was usually government or military, such as police departments at one point several government departments went from windows XP to Windows Vista here in Canada and they spent millions converting back a couple months later, the problems they had with Vista were insane and it wasn't long before they went back to windows XP a lot of government facilities are still running windows XP because of issues with newer operating systems. I'm guessing Windows 10 won't run on one of these old machines and that's why you use Windows 7?

The Intel GMA graphics on the Core 2 Duo T7200 should be able to run Windows Aero just fine. My personal experience with my upgraded Latitude D620 prove this. However, seeing that you have a laptop that I've never heard of, drivers were probably the issue. OK. Wait. It must be the ATI graphics.
