In high school working in a garage part time. One fine beautiful sunny day one of the mechanics who was doing a drum brake job was using a screw driver to remove a drum return spring when the stew driver slipped off the spring and went up into his eye. He lost the eye. When I see individuals doing anything in a shop and they aren't wearing eye protection I think of this. I take shop courses at the local community college and college wide, the first thing you do when you walk into the shop is put on your safety glasses.....NO EXCEPTIONS.

The same as aftermarket performance cylinder heads for gasoline applications. I ultimately ended up only supplying three manufacturers' products during race/high performance engines built for customers. To supply any other brands required complete re-machining of their products.

You have all these high tech equipment and wouldn’t be able to weld the cracked head. The Pakistan Stone Age technicians weld the cracked engine head and cylinder bock , by preheating with dried cow manure and then welding with nickel .Actually they do an amazing job 😂

Overall will there be a noticeable difference with the performance? Does this help get more power out of an engine, higher efficiency, longer life? Genuinely curious as to the added benefits to take the time to get a tighter tolerance. Have only been introduced to machining from your shorts mostly

I was wondering why you plugged the way passage through the head gasket. Then I realized that less holes in the head gasket means a stronger gasket with less points of failure.

How does the cost and time balance off against a CAT Reman?
@hisnameisiam808 Жыл бұрын
Same question.
@mitchell7203 Жыл бұрын
From my experience, probably pretty well. Cat genuine reman stuff is extremely high quality (usually...I've been hearing rumors of some increasingly poor quality products) but it's 3 or 4 times as expensive as anyone else's equivalent.

The Certi is a very good machine, but I like the sun and I think it’s the VG 120 the pilots don’t turn when you’re making your cut on the seat you push the pilot in and then you bring the cutter down to it by doing that you have a more stable cutter remember that cutters gotta have room to be able to move around we know the still very good machine. I just think the sunen is better

So exactly what parts did u reuse from the old head? Springs and retainers? Would have been faster to put on a reman head. If seat runout was within spec why mess with it at all. This isn't a race engine, customer wants the truck making money asap.
