Can We Land a Jet on a FLYING AIRCRAFT CARRIER?

Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today we are doing a co-op challenge where we try to land a jet on a flying aircraft carrier in mid-air! I am building the jet the be small and controllable, while Yzuei build the flying aircraft carrier to be large and stable. Will the jet be able to stick the landing on the aircraft carrier? Or will physics betray us?

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I think the issue with the detachable blocks is to do with drag. Similar principle as the zero drag glitch.

air-to-air refueling is basically this

I believe a couple of designs were drawn up but from what I recall the closest thing to this used a hook to catch aircraft, like on some of the earlier naval ships that could launch planes. Don't quote me on that though Edit: pretty sure it was a Zeppelin / blimp that had it as well. Pretty sure dark docs have covered it before

This has a similar concept to a U.S. experimental fighter jet called the XF-85 Goblin. It was deployable jet called a parasite jet attached to a bomber to protect it before airial refuelling became a thing. There is a really interesting and funny video by The Fat Electrician that explains the history of it and why it was invented. (with a lot of swearing tho) Remembered this while watching this and thought it was cool.

Now... try a ship carrier, a plane that can release and catch one or multiple ships, the ship mustn't be able to fly and the plane must have a proper cargo bay, the dimensions are up to you.

That's an amazing cool challenge to watch! I think that another cool idea was to create some airplane with kind of an ejection seat that brings pilot back to ground safely! Another is to create a plane with a small plane backup and give it a dogfight, like, when the main plane get some pieces destroyed and not able to fly anymore so detach the small plane inside of that and keeps flying and dogfighting! So cool to see your and Yzuei videos, amazing!

video idea: heavy weapons guy VS the scout: both of you have the same overall power core limit, however one of you has to remain under a certain weight limit and must focus their power cores on thrust, the other person has to remain over a certain weight limit and must focus their power cores on weaponry.

Well someone has to ask: is it possible to build a big enough carrier to carry the carrier? Also you did an air-fight, a sub-fight & a backwards-air-fight but not a ship-battle...(in the new update that is.) you might want to do that as well.

That was epic! Challenge idea: You could do best / most versatile transforming vehicle. (As in transformers). For example, a plane that can completely fold away it's wings and become a car, which could then deploy propellers and fold away the wheels to become a boat. Of course, aesthetics matter!

u should do a 2v2 where one person makes a glider and another person makes a cargo type plane that launches the glider once u get to a certain point and whoever's team get the furthest in the glider wins. just an idea idk if it would work but if it does it will be such a cool video either way keep up the good work love your content. You should get like 4 (or maybe even 8!?) people together for a tournament where you all build the most powerful vehicle you can imagine with the only limitation being the ones you would have in regular sandbox mode and no invincible cabs. Flying, floating, Ground based, anything goes! Go crazy! 1v1s until there's only 1 left after the final! Let's see what's the most combat worthy creations you all can make! (And drive!)

Thinking of current aircraft carriers, they don't typically have long enough strips to land/launch like land strips do, instead having launch pads and nets. Could there have been a retractable/deployable net on the carrier to 'catch' the smaller aircraft?

I think you should make an air balloon version of an aircraft carrier and put auto stability and altitude locking on it. Then drop a few of them around the map. On each one have a jet for each of you then do a race from the big aircraft carrier landing on each floating aircraft balloon in order and getting out and swapping jets to then fly to the next carrier so one an so forth. It'll be a race.

I found a strange plane you could try to recreate in trail makers. It’s called the M-25 Hell reaper. It’s a plane that intended to use it’s sonic boom as a weapon. It would be interesting to see you try to build what the Russians couldn’t finish.😁

What about making a cargo plane and a car, with the intent to either have a hanging attachment block to grab the car and carry it off to safety or a door that opens and somehow have to drive or jump the car into it.. (imagine a movie scene with the car dodging blimp attacks and a plane just swoops in to carry the car away)

Too bad ima Xbox gamer and not a pc gamer, looks like the building is much easier. And I’m limited on buttons. Ima definitely make a orca or something, liked your shark, I wanna use a sub dime tho, and go underwater.
