It is subtle but it is there. I first noticed it a few years back when fishing. Some of the black nickel had rubbed off of the hook causing a shiny spot. I could see the hook shimmy back forth like a keel. I have tried every brand of stick worm but did not see the shimmy. I saw one of your older videos where you were demonstrating pros and cons of salt. Your fall rate demo in the bucket showed the same "knuckle ball" fall using DOP black label and salt. My DOP black label will arrive today and I will do some experimenting myself. Hopefully, I will get the desired result. I believe testing the fall rate with a hook will be the key. Your videos have been very helpful and I hope you keep doing them.

When I 1st heard about salt in lures I though in was for taste. But why add salt at all when it sink fast any way
@jerrylucas-y7o19 сағат бұрын
Matching the sink rate is important but yamamoto also has a shimmy ( or wobble) that I haven't been able to match.
@WorldsWorstFishing19 сағат бұрын
@@jerrylucas-y7o interesting I've never observed a wobble different than any others
@pmm42218 сағат бұрын
the wobble is very much tied to the weight and durometer of the plastic. Most underwater filmed comparisons do show a distinct difference in wobble. I would also say generally heavier is better.

@@pmm422 must be a weight vs density thing

You should purge your injectors especially when using a dual block, that makes sure both colors come out at the same time. Without purging if one is cooler than the other it will naturally move slower. Although your baits came out looking great I would still recommend purging. Just my 2 cents lol what you do at the end of the day is your choice either way I will still watch!
@WorldsWorstFishingКүн бұрын
I've experimented with purging in the past..I've found it to make no difference in the end result..even with the block flowing perfectly even..the most even even of all time, you can never guarantee that the two streams of plastic will reach the bottom of the runner at the exact same moment and thus fill the cavities more evenly...purging just seems to be an extra step that wastes plastic and is unnecessary for me.

I've always been skeptical about salt...on one hand it's a marketing ploy by big brands so they can make their baits cheaper "salt is significantly less costly than plastisol" and it makes them tear up so you have to buy more...on the other hand, can it almost provide some sort of flavor the fish like??

@Bassmaster1256Күн бұрын
The MF medium sinking formula will weight in at 8.8 grams.
@WorldsWorstFishingКүн бұрын
Interesting..my scale only read grams, not fractions of grams..being closer to the 11 gram weight may have given me a closer sink rate. And yep, adding a white substance in bulk to the color will always alter it . I used to add TONS of salt to colors just for the purpose of color
