Love the outdoor shower for Ollie, hiking shoes, & bikes! We may have to add that on to ours!

I’ve done lots of plumbing and it’s always a three trip minimum! 5 trips not so bad for your first go👏👏👏 Thanks for sharing your van build adventures, love watching you learn! Please get a gentler flow nozzle for Ollie’s baths, she’ll be appreciative for that.

Thanks so much for watching! 10-4 on Ollie, baths are probably one of her least favorite things in the world!

Little late for advice but...buy more fittings than you need, surplus can be returned or kept for emergencies.

Looks great! I think it is a good idea to have the shut off valves for the water tanks. However, I'm just trying to figure out a situation in which they would be used? I cannot think of one...
@SchoandJo5 күн бұрын
We used them a lot when building the system, and afterward, they are mainly just insurance. Say if we had a leak in our shower hotwater, we could turn off that line and still have sink water, and cold shower water, etc etc. Simple and cheap to add, so I figured my future self would be thankful 😁
@Stevo-06311 күн бұрын
Put isolation valves direct on tanks. You cannot shut down otherwise, SOP if you're a plumber 😊

Don't know if the people that bought Pivot keep you updated, but I'm watching "Drift Away". They're last video was from Lake Barkley, filmed mid October, and had video of her passing by.

LOVE Pex-A. So easy to work with! I re-pipped our entire house with it a few years ago. A couple of tips if you do any more of it. You should expand your thinking with Pex (pun intended har har). You can consider reducing the number of elbows and just use a longer piece to arc from point A to point B. 90 bends aren't so necessary as if you are using metal or pvc pipping. Only use them if the Pex really has to turn 90 degrees in a short radius. Also you can cut a fitting free by not cutting quite all the way through. When it gets close it will split. Also if you score the plastic fitting a bit, it really isn't that big of a deal. You can just touch it a bit with sand paper to dress it and reuse. Pex is very forgiving and can handle some imperfections on the nipples.

Great tips! Super glad to hear we can re-use some of the connections if I need to cut it in the future. Thanks for sharing 😁

PEX system is great for homes but for boats and vans flexible hose and hose clamps are much better.
@SchoandJo5 күн бұрын
We will see! Pex A is pretty flexible too and pretty common in van building 😁 We love it so far!

I was corrected so many times when I was younger about "why are you heating hot water" that I always comment when someone says hot water heater. It's a water heater. Yes, I'm that guy, sorry.

Please strap down your water tanks and batteries. "Turning turtle" is more likely offroad than on the water. When you're finished with the van you should weigh it and modify the suspension/wheels/tires as necessary. If your van has duallies swap them for "super singles"; dually tires don't air down well, the sidewalls can rub. Good work!
@SchoandJo5 күн бұрын
The Batteries are screwed into the floor and the water tanks are pretty built in! We may add a strap to the tanks but I think they will be secure... We actually weighed the van a couple weeks ago and the van is just under GVWR (with projected weights)! We'll get it weighed once more when we are fully moved in but 🤞 it works out! Thanks so much for watching, John!
