We didn't make it last time... let's see what happens if we try to Return to the Arctic. Driving and winter camping an old 1996 Ford F350 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel truck 2,000 miles up to the Arctic Ocean with the coldest weather I've ever experienced... what could happen? This is Episode 3 of the Return to the Arctic series.

Hey Tim! I’m a 38 year old black male born and raised in the Bay Area, Oakland/ San Francisco California that’s never been camping. I don’t do outdoors, I’m a city slicker… With that being said I am living the truck life through you… This might be my favorite channel. My lady friends think I’m crazy for watching your episodes. I stumbled across an episode and been hooked ever since. It’s very entertaining, thank you for the content.

Tim, here’s the thing about idling a diesel overnight: raise your idle rate by a few hundred RPM. Not excessively high, but 750-800 RPM. Prevents wet-stacking/washing liners/cylinders. Better to spend $45 to idle than to be stuck like Chuck with a gelled-up truck. Power Service or Howe’s fuel treatment only works so far…this comes from 25 years and 2M miles+ of trucking experience, mostly transporting petroleum products…

As a Mexican, I’m proud that you actually slightly toasted the tortilla over a tad of oil. I see many non-Mexicans just grab the cold tortilla and add stuff, yikes. While it was not al pastor or carne asada tacos, ground beef is cool. We call it picadillo. Your tacos looked great and yummy. If you want to take your ground beef taco to the next level, add some Mexican chorizo as well. You can also cut little potatoes cubes and sauté them on the skillet until golden brown. Mix all those three ingredients up. So next time, have tacos with ground beef, chorizo, and potatoes. Mince onions and cilantro. Touch of lime. And of course salsa. Killer stuff! Great video as always!

Is sour cream a Mexican thing or a bastardization of the Americans making it? Either way I gotta have sour cream with my tacos. Lol
@eyesears113
@eyesears113 3 ай бұрын
@@JellyBeansMystreyMachine Sour cream is used in Mexican cuisine on hard shell tacos, tostadas, flautas, sopes, stuff like that. It’s also used in burritos and enchiladas too. It’s definitely used in various Mexican foods. Mexican sour cream is thinner and has a slight lime add on as ingredient, so it’s easier to pour over your stuff. Another type of sour cream Mexicans use is called jocoque, which is influenced by the one million Lebanese who migrated and stayed in Mexico. Having said that, sour cream is usually not added on Mexican soft street tacos, they will look at you funny if you do, lol. Sour cream is usually a no-no on soft street tacos like al pastor, carne asada, carnitas, birria, cochinita pibil, suadero, lengua, lomo, chorizos, cesos, etc. The exception are Baja fish tacos, as they are battered fried fish, and locals do add sour cream or even mayo on them. Baja fish tacos are also famous for having shredded cabbage or lettuce. But there are no rules. You can add sour cream on anything, it’s your palate. I do like sour cream on hard shell tacos, tostadas, and flautas…but my preference is no sour cream on soft street tacos. Keep enjoying your tacos! 😁👍

@@TruckHouseLife , hi Tim I always enjoy the videos! ^_^ Idk the details on your truck but I assumed it could be some variant of a 1997 F350 4x4. I found one place online "Radiator Express" has a "30.5 gallon tank" that fits a "1997 FORD F-350 SUPER CAB - 7.5 liter V8 460CID FUEL TANK 30.5 GALLON VERSION ONLY." Idk if that works with your truck, Idk if you have a 6.9, 7.3 or 7.5.... There is another place called "Classic Diesel Designs" that offers a "38 GALLON REAR TANK CONVERSION KIT FOR 1983-1997 6.9 & 7.3 F250/F350 TRUCKS. This is a direct fit for all 1983-1997 F250, F350 factory diesel trucks." So just going to their site and "Search All Products - Fuel tank" and it comes up.

You ruin your life by tolerating it. At the end of the day you should be excited to be alive. When you settle for anything less than what you innately desire, you destroy the possibility that lives inside of you, and in that way you cheat both yourself and the world of your potential. The next Michelangelo could be sitting behind a Macbook right now writing an invoice for paperclips, because it pays the bills, or because it is comfortable, or because he can tolerate it. Do not let this happen to you. Do not ruin your life this way. Life and work, and life and love, are not irrespective of each other. They are intrinsically linked. We have to strive to do extraordinary work, we have to strive to find extraordinary love. Only then will we tap into an extraordinarily blissful life. ~Bianca Sparacino

I’m a 60 year old guy and my wife died 3 years ago (that’s life). Three months after she died I embarked on a 37 day road trip from Kansas City to the east coast, then south to Key West and eventually made it back home. It was such a therapeutic journey of learning my new life and thinking. Lots of thinking and driving alone for 37 days and 5900 miles was the perfect time and place to think. I usually listen to mellow reggae music when I drive and think. Ps…. Camped in my tent 27 nights in several cool places along the way. PSs….if I were ever young again, I would want to live my life just like you! Rock on young man!!

Words can't express how these videos make me feel. It's like a different planet out there and yet it's not, which makes me astounded what an amazing place we live! Such beauty and such hardship... My thoughts go to the people who live out there (original and present), and the animals; how they survive is a mystery to me. Thank you Timmy for living your calling, it's something special and I wish you good fortunes!

I’m also a 70 year old guy watching your adventures, I still whitewater raft and surf. I’m surprised your drone doesn’t freeze in those temps, awesome footage with the “bird”. I got out of college in the mid 70’s and there weren’t many jobs around , there were recruiters down here in the lower 48 hiring guys to work on that pipeline. , cool to see the finished product. Thanks as always 🎅

I had friends who worked on the pipeline. I am 77. She was the principal of a school and they were expecting their first baby. I have never been to Alaska but my kids and grandkids have. It has been a treat for me to see the pipeline and where they were. They were all killed by a drunk driver and I didn’t find out for months because there was no internet or home computers so when her mother went through their things she found letters I had written to them. I have lived at the foot of the Rockies and driven in Blizzards in the mountains many times so this is taking me back. Just not that 🥶 cold. You do such good tours. You are like going with a friend without drama. The scripted/reality shows seem to like drama, like ice road truckers.

Another great thing to wake up to is the flat spots in your tires, not out of air tires. When it gets really cold like below -40 your tires can freeze and you have a flat spot on them for the first few miles. Lived up near Fairbanks for a couple years, loved it!
