Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League Premier Division. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. Some dark magic by Haringey that match. Clearly a deliberate handball at 4:19, kind of ridiculous actually. Also the same player who stuck their arm up to block Matty's header. Misha's goal should have counted, clearly over the line. 16:17 was obviously a penalty, idk where the ref was but it was blatantly a penalty. Good to get the win, but if decisions had been called a bit better by the officials it would have been about 4-1 instead of 2-1

Check out the replay angle at 19:37, and you'll see the defender 100% intentionally raise him arm when he knows he's been beaten. Exact same player who controlled the ball with his arm earlier like you said. Presume he didn't get sent off either. Funny thing is, the header was probably going straight to their keeper. I guess that's the power of the replays we get

Great win. -Glad to see AT put in a good performance after a tough run of form. Occupied the CBs, won the ball in the air and bagged an assist. -Wooldridge has such great ability with the ball but his work rate is atrocious -Luke is brilliant -Toby looked phenomenal, wouldn't mind him starting soon -Haysom was the best player in the first half. Would love to see him carry the ball more like he did today -Seems to be a trend of teams getting a goal out of nothing by putting it in the corner, even if its quite slow and from distance. Striz can make great reaction saves but just can't get down to those bottom corners at all.

Chatham Town beat Ashford United 4-2. So the final is set, at Aveley FC on April 17th 2024, it will be Hashtag vs Chatham Town for the Velocity Cup. Chatham Town are currently in 2nd place in the Isthmian League Premier so Hashtag will be the underdog in this final

Great win for Hashtag in spite of some awful officiating. If I'm being honest, I actually think it's a foul from Toby in the build-up to the winner, but I guess it cancels out Mish's shot in the first half that went over the line.
