In my lifetime, I've never seen more ceramic capacitors fail than the SMD type. What I would see were fifty year old dried up electrolytic capacitors. It's not cheating to use every tool in the toolbox to quickly find the culprit. Good job. 🏆

It’s crazy how common it is on the PS5’s the capacitor is failing and all random spots sourcing part out from different vendors and one quality control

Great you note the values.. when I see a trend of failures and no donors to pull a value just see where it is connected if i chip pull data sheet look at examples circuits if they have them most mfg's use the the recommended circuits in their designs.

Bought a used ps5 I need u to save mine man what would it cost me? Before it would let me play like 30mins on NBA 2K and shutoff. So I removed averything down to the heatsink to make sure there was no dust build up by power supply, cleaned off all dust, put everything back together and now as soon as i get into a game in 2K the fan goes wild spinning fast and shuts off . Even after just being on for 2 minutes.

Now thinking back i realized i installed the apu coolerplate ontop of the plastic piece lol , does the cooler plate go immediately on top of the apu and plastic ontop?

possible the liquid metal It’s not spread evenly and the APU
