Well done! That drive system is like one of the ones you would find on a Tyco Trolley. Very. Cool I actually had a diesel with dual motors of this type it was an F unit however the shell was shot so I salvaged the Brushes for spares . also how you did the wires is actually how they are done on a 4-6-2 pacifics . im sure all tycos were wired the same.

I have this same model, got it to run with a lot of care and effort, it's a smooth runner, but when you get up to speed, everyone at a trainshow last year heard it though the whole building and it was a decently sized one too over everyone talking and the trains themselves The couplers are always a pain to replace, I know your pain, not to mention I see the horn snapped off on yours two, thats ironic.

Did the AT&SF ever have small diesel switcher locomotives like this? Did they ever have a paint scheme like this? Great job with the restoration as always Harrison!
@SMTMainline4 жыл бұрын
Not that I'm aware of but the Santa fe had a lot of different locos and paint schemes throughout the years so they might have had something similar.
@LeoA26003 жыл бұрын
The Tyco is a fictional locomotive design. The Santa Fe though did have small numbers of industrial sized switchers including several GE 44 tonners, some Whitcombs and Plymouths, etc. Some of their oddballs though were just for working things like tie plants and weren't even standard gauge.
@whiteknightcat4 жыл бұрын
Here is some info on this product. It was essentially a "toy train" offering back in the day. It's loosely based on Plymouth-built switchers more often designed for narrow gauge use. An example might be the Midwest Central's unit #14. (Google image search for pictures) tycotrain.tripod.com/tycobrownboxdiesels/id16.html
