I still have a grey Atlantic, American version, that's missing a few bits & has a broken leading bogey and cylinders. Will get in touch with Rivarestore to try and get those, now as you've inspired me. Regards from Tasmania.

You could get a Life-Like starter set either the Golden Rails set or the Freight Express set at Toys R Us back in the day. Toys R Us used to sell Life-Like sets.

It would be good to know the budget for this in $$ and how much you actually spent on it... as we all know nothing is cheap these days and some of the stuff you mentioned at the early section of this video you got from train shows.
@SMTMainline17 сағат бұрын
Since the materials have been purchased over the span of a year its difficult to say exactly but I suspect its somewhere around $700US. I might do a video where I backtrack on receipts and find out.
@TimsBitsnPieces7 сағат бұрын
@@SMTMainline $700 US is a lot of money............... so not really a tight budget at all...... Most people would not be able to afford that for a train set... Well I am in Melbourne Australia and I do not know anyone would spend that much for a toy train set for their son.... maybe a few hundred AU Dollars, but not $700 US.. which equates to $1,126.63 AU Dollars at today's market rate (2 Jan 2025).... so not many people would be able to afford that here in Australia... Also, why make it all 15" and 18"? only small locos and carriages can run on that tight a radius. If you wanted more on such a small area then why not use N scale... more in a smaller footprint?

I’m always amazed at how fast you can build these layouts, can’t wait to see the next video in the series! Also, for your next layout project, you should build a two-level layout with a helix going between them. Love your videos!
