I really like that paper on magnetic monopoles from a few years back. If I understand it correctly, the authors weren't necessarily claiming monopoles in stars to be a likely source of life (or something like it), but an example of the potential for much stranger things than our senses are capable of dealing with being potentially more ubiquitous than we might guess. It was a decent effort to promote that intellectual humility they're talking about while maintaining a strong tolerance for ambiguity, which seems a good goal for that kind of thing.

They wouldn't talk. They would just offer you root beer barrels. That's all they would say, "Root Beer barrel" and hand you a piece of candy. That's actually from my high school physics teacher who said he took a boating class with his dad for the license and he would just say that to him. He was a wealthy engineer or CEO for Ford and it sounds like they had a strained relationship. Why do they have to talk? That's a very English cultural thing. Joe Rogan has a fascination with Egypt but it's not the language or hieroglyphs.

It's not like inter human communication but rather inter species communication. Can you communicate with a dog? To some degree yes, but can you explain to a dog to not bite your human friend. I don't think so, as for a dog your friend is an alien invading your territory. Animals can't understand complexity of human relationships. One way or another there have to be simplifications and mappings losing some information in the process

That is one of the possibilities. Both Jacques Vallée & John Keel wrote books on that theory. Basically whatever they are.. They've been here. These things didn't start with the atomic bomb, they just increased. They've more than likely been here longer than us. Or ..they were created along side us. We once existed side by side.
