Had a green, R reg one in 1980, bought it from a bloke in East Herringthorpe, Rotherham. Don’t remember it having two plugs. The cable to the oil pump was broke, lucky it didn’t cease up.

The gasoline in America is 10-15 percent ethanol. It says 10 at the fuel stations but you can buy a test kit that tests alcohol content in the fuel and many people have found 15 percent which is bad for gasoline fuel system. E85 is rare. The city I live in has only one E85 pump.

Back in the day bikes were made to last they were really well made and not to complex much easier to work on and diagnose a problem not that there over complicated now but lots of electronic failures you can have

Great vid mate enjoying following your progress. Yambits are good for some things but have a bit of a rep for others as I found out when I had my RD250LC companies like them though are still invaluble for keeping classics on the road these days. Keep up the good work.
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport Жыл бұрын
Yes I'm not knocking Yambits as they've been great in the past, but every part we ordered for this bike was wrong so far. 🙁 Thanks so much for the nice comment.

From experience, pattern carb kits are notoriously not to the correct spec. especially the float seats and needle valve!Much better to spend more on OE parts that fit and work first time when correctly assembled. Also you need to do some research on the exact model you have using the frame/engine no.s and the internet. Fowlers is a useful site.
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport Жыл бұрын
Yes we will have to research the carb itself if we're going to use it as the DT100 isn't listed on sites even Fowlers. 😢

E85 contains 51 to 85 percent ethanol which is no good for two strokes at or even 4 strokes check all rubber deal and replace if neccesary as ethanol will destroy them eventually check carb clean carb and replace with clean new leaded fuel uk fuel as I brought a bike from USA a 1972 ski ts 90 and did this to it and it ran good I'm thinking about buying a 1972 suzuki ts 185 from USA for £1000 what puts me off is the shipping cost the sellers says are 100 dollars its more than likely going g to cost £800 to £1000 to ship the bike it has nova pork what do you think is it worth it it does run
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport Жыл бұрын
Talk to Jem at Top Dog Motorcycles which is linked in the description of the last video where we bought this bike. He will be able to ship it to you for a charge I'm sure. 😉

Music is not needed here, and it takes away from your video. Believe me, anyone watching this kind of video would rather hear a 2-stroke engine than music covering it and your voice up… And a camera lens cleaning wouldn’t hurt, would it? 😂😂😂
