Thanks Mark. Hey please tell us about the 5 volt screen. I mean the other screen you mentioned. Thanks

Ok, I will make another video about that. Its a 15.6 inch portable monitor. Not exactly rugged though. I will add a few pics on Instagram in the mean time.

I have a 13.3" portable monitor. I power both the monitor and my Pi400 from a Zendure 27000maH powerbank. Email me if you want details. I'm QTHR on QRZ. By the way, I love your videos Julian OH8STN! David G4NRT

How do you get the Android tablet to act as a screen for the Pi-400? G7VFY
@M0IAX4 жыл бұрын
Enable VNC on the pi and use the VNC Viewer app on the tablet. Works on android and iOS .

Hi Mark. I've just received my Pi400 and am working on connecting to my IC-705. I'm only able to connect wsjt-x via FLRIG because I can't find the IC-705 directly (I've configured the CI-V to 94h (IC-7300)). Would you please tell me how you attach the 705 to the Pi for rig control etc? Great video - I'd also like to know about the 5v monitor! 73. David G4NRT

I've connected via USB cable and also Bluetooth successfully. I changed the CI-V address as you have and then select the Icom 7300 as the radio in JS8Call (the same works for WSJT-X) then select the appropriate sound input/output unfortunately I have not been able to connect sound via Bluetooth yet so you will need the USB cable. Please let be know if that helps or you need more specific details.

@@M0IAX - Thanks. I didn't make myself clear. I am using USB. I'm able to get audio into and out of the 705 via USB. I'm able to get GPS out of the 705 to sync the Pi clock etc. However, I'm only able to attach the rig CI-V to wsjt-x via FLRIG. I cannot find it on the radio tab of wsjt-x. I get three /dev/AC** options plus one just called USB but none of them work with the 705. Does that make more sense? I hope so! Thanks!!

Oh right. I think you get ttyACM0 and ttyACM1 ? One is rig control and the other has the NMEA output for GPS. I will fire up my pi when I have time and double check, but this info might help in the meantime I think?

@@M0IAX Yes. That will help. I have found that the USB cable is a weak link. I had to try loads before I found a good one. It's a 3m Anker with multiple turns each end through clip on ferrites. Thank you. David

@@davidbondy8340 I checked and I have js8call using /dev/ttyACM0 for cat control of the ic705. Baud rate set at 115k

Great show, next update will be remote Starlink connect. ;) Of course you need a power supply.

Messing around I bet it can get around the desktop with just short cuts. So don't need the mouse unless you have too.

I think I prefer a mouse, I use to get issues with track pads around RF. They stop working until the transmitter stopped TXng, even at QRP power. The PI400 is very usable, as well as a lot of retro value with it. I will try not to show my age :D :D.
@M0IAX4 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. The reason for wanting a trackpad though is I don’t normally have a table. That was all just video magic, smoke and mirrors ;-) Also don’t worry about showing your age on this channel, the computer I taught myself BASIC on was a shiny new Atari 600XL. ;-)
