"Summertime" is such a great song & has been covered by so many artists. Love this version! It shows just how good Bobby Hatfield was & his incredible range. The Righteous Brothers were known for their blue eyed soul music. These guys were the best. Bobby Hatfield with his beautiful tenor voice & Bill Medley with his deeper voice. They were magic together. Other great songs by them is "Unchained Melody", "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'', "Soul & Inspiration", "Just Once In My Life", "Ebb Tide", "Rock & Roll Heaven" etc.

Bill's solo after this was "Old Man River", I believe, and it's wonderful. Now you're finally getting into the essence of the Righteous Brothers that we watched every week on Shindig. They are more noted for their R&B and can really let it rip like this. Don't know of anyone else who was such a master of both sets of vocal cords like Bobby Hatfield was. His range was so unbelievable that he invented his own notes when they ran out of piano keys. Hope you dive into more of their livelier and humorous performances. What the Righteous Brothers do with "You are My Sunshine" will wow you, you'll laugh your butt off at "Ko Ko Joe", and I think you'll enjoy "I Need Your Loving Everyday". There is still a ton more videos that will knock your socks off.
@leannehouston21713 ай бұрын
I need your loving everyday is one of my favorites. Bobby's passion and excitement are catching. I can't watch it without laughing with joy. His vocals were always amazing but WOW what an entertainer he was. He could hold anyone's attention. It's so hard to believe that he was always nervous before a show but I've heard him say it several times in interviews and you can tell sometimes if he talks before singing. Singing seems to calm him down. That is/was his element. Bobby Hatfield will live on as long as his music is around.

These versions of "Summertime", "Ol' Man River", and also "My Babe" were on a television show called Something Special in 1965. The Righteous Brothers were regulars on the great Shindig television show, where "I Need Your Loving" is one of my many favorites too, and the other songs mentioned above and also a good version of"My Babe" -- which they wrote. I love their rhythm 'n' blues and rock 'n' roll more than the ballad hits started by Phil Spector, though they're good too. I think that Bobby Hatfield's nervousness involved him channeling powerful music/sound/vibrations through his body being. 🎶✨

Another live performance that will forever be unmatched. Bobby was the real deal. No one will ever perform Unchained Melody even slightly close to his version. I haven’t checked your videos yet but if you haven’t reacted to it, when you do, it will certainly get you a million views. It is often the highest viewed video for many reactors. That tells you so much. Please react to any and all available Righteous Brothers songs and while you’re at it, don’t sleep on any Billy Joel or Paul Simon solo artist or Simon and Garfunkel. Also, not sure if you’ve reacted to Elvis Presley’s If I Could Dream. It’s a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr and Bobby Kennedy shortly after they were assassinated. I loved this reaction. “Bobby you’re invited to the barbecue.” Priceless!!! 😂

@@leannehouston2171 I begin my day listening to "I Need A Girl". It regenerates the girl in me which regenerates me the 74 year old woman. I don't think that he knew what he meant to people because he was underrated, and also because time and becoming a legend adds something to the love of him. Though I have faith that somehow however spirituality functions the love that he exuded shall return to him. 💜🎶✨
