i ran into same problem last weekend during my shoot. All i do is tapping a sony NPF battery to the right side. It works well

That's a neat idea. 2 in one, battery and counter weight ;). Unfortunately Weebill-S is not powerful enough in some situations for BMPCC6k. I've experienced this while shooting in a car. Whenever car been accelerating quite fast gimbal engines were not able to cope and camera been sliding to the side. BMPCC6k needs something bigger in more demanding situations. But should be ok for weddings and stuff like that ;).

If you had a choice, what gimbal would you buy for the 6k?

Based on reviews and specs. DJI RS2. It's even on my "Photo gear to buy list". Pro Combo is a no-brainer for BMPCC6k. I'm also considering Lidar. Problem with lidar is you you have to connect it via USB to camera so you loose possibility to connect T5 drive. But at the moment gimbal is not my big priority to buy, since there is a way to work with Weebill-S (cumbersome, but possible) and lens with optical stabilization allows rig to be much smaller. With RS2 Rear Operating Control Handle is also a thing to consider, but depends on style of shooting. Of course do you research before buying, because there might be a deal breaker for you with this gimbal which is not one for me. Check kzbin.info/door/tCejB7Fvm6XD7PmOtgFrgA - Adam put RS2 through its paces.

Would a glidecam and the weeble s work together as an arri trinity setup along with the bmpcc 6k?
@JoATTech2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the scenaria, but I'd say generally NO. I tried my setup (BMPCC6k + Weebill-S) in the car. I've been filming other passanger, so camera been pointing sideways. And when the car been accelerating, engines couldn't keep up, and camera has been turning around and stayed in the new position. The shot been totally ruined. Sure you wouldn't use glidecam in the car :), but that shows that engines are not strong enough for BMPCC6k with more demanding scenarios. I've been using canon 35mm F2 then, so quite compact and light lens. Of course it might work for very gentle movements, and maybe glidecam will offset some of the high forces, but I would rather turn my eyes to RS2 or Cranes.
