Heya, sorry to say it, but you lost a unit in 4:47 (the Valkyrie) 😞 loved the video and the series though!

Glad somebody's paying attention to these things. She died and the supply dropped to 116, but I had 120 in the next scene where I said I went back, the reason why I went back in the first place was because I was losing units trying to go forward. I just reloaded after losing the Valkyrie and I went back after destroying the temples. Had 2 Valkyries at the end of the level and I only built 2 so I know none of them died. Similar thing happened at 18:01 where the dragon killed one of my axemen and I reloaded afterwards, I just didn't feature the act of reloading in the video :) PS Don't worry, I meticulously check footage after a level and I upload the whole footage on my second channel, the last thing I want to be seen as is disingenuous.

Wow. The strategy to build a corridor with walled off towers with heroes, town center and ranged units waiting at the end was brilliant. I never thought that towers and walls do much in this game, because siege damage downs them quickly, and if enemy has long range siege weapons at the back of his forces, you cannot defend against that, and all your buildings eventually die. But if you build what you did, the AI gets stupid and decides not to attack any buildings, and ignore being attacked by towers. I guess lots of strategies in this run are based on knowing how the AI will react.

Yeah, the AI in the original is relatively abusable. These kind of shenanigans won't work in Retold tho

Just want to say, simple editing like back off when the battle boar kicks a unit or the exodia arm for the box of Osiris, is what makes a video good. Just because it's small or simple doesn't mean it doesn't make the video that much better. I genuinely laughed at those parts. Keep up the hard work man 🫰🏾

The Atlantian campaign is already out and it's as miserable as you expect it being. I've never played the Yakuza series, those games aren't really my cup of tea, but a no damage challenge on any game would make me miserable enough to give it a try hahahah

22:10 - I played this mission in Retold. I don't remember if it's the same in the original, but in Retold, Gargarensis uses Meteor power against you twice. The first one I accidentally baited by Pegasus scout, so he targeted my ships before I unloaded the units, and I simply sailed away, so it missed me completely. But the second one, I don't know what exactly triggers it. It always happened shortly after I established my economy, and have nearly enough resources for Mythic Age. Then he targets my town center with meteors, and eleminates almost all workers, and by a bad luck, always destroyed my Egyptian catapults that I got in the beginning of the mission. Since you didn't mention the meteors, does it not happen here?

He uses the meteors only once in the beginning and I baited that one and told my units to back off. In Retold he really does use it twice, I think i saw my gold mine near the town center deplete at the same moment he used the meteors so I think the second meteor strike is connected to the gold mine, but i'm not 100% sure

Hmm I screwed that one in the editing department, good eye tho, didn't even notice it. You can see a valkyrie corpse at 6:00 so it was her. I did restart that one since i ended the mission with 2 valkyries and I've only built 2. You can see she is alive and well in the scene after that. Again, really good eye tho, I try to notice these kinds of things before shipping a video, but that one totally went over my head hahahah

I'm gonna do a challenge run for AoM Retold, I don't really do regular playthroughs, at least not for my KZbin vids. There are plenty of people who do those things already and I don't like doing stuff that other people do, especially since a lot of them do it better than me.

12:00 - You have 15 towers on one screen. And I bet you have more towers near the other walled off sections. I thought the original game also had tower limit. I think it's 10 towers maximum in Retold.

There is a tower limit in the original, it's like 25 or sth like that if I remember correctly. Pretty sure there is a 10 forts limit in Retold, no way you can only build that few towers. The tower limit has to be bigger

@@AmonsChallenges I just launched AoM Extended edition and tried skirmish as Thor. Apparently, the limit is 14 Towers and 8 Hill Forts. I couldn't try that particular mission, because I never finished the campaign on this installation. And I don't have the original game anymore. I lost it when I was 17 after I borrowed it to a friend and he borrowed it to a friend, and he never returned it. I don't know if there is a difference between original and Extended edition. I tried skirmish in Retold as Thor. The limit is 20 Towers and 10 Hill Forts. When I tried this mission, it was the same. But for some reason, when I tried Norse All is not Lost mission, the build menu UI still said 20 Towers limit, but I wasn't allowed to build more than 15 Towers. Even when going to Mythic age. So, all in all, it looks like Retold has a less strict limit. And that you shouldn't have been able to build so many :D

@@AmonsChallenges It had to be some bug, because I counted the starting towers in that amount. So the starting towers would have to be counting twice to the total amount. In any case, the UI still showed 15/20 built, but I got error message when trying to build the 16th.

You can actually cheese level 30 pretty easy, if you don't build the town center they never attack, so you can just gather resources and build up for as long as you want.
