Fun cheese fact for the Ithilien mission. You can get faramir consistently to level 3 by first getting his experience to 99%-ish at level 1 and then killing the stationary mumakil as him. This ranks him up to level 2 while also almost hitting level 3. The stationary mumakils are not programmed to fight back, so you can have him taking up his sword and slowly beating the mumakil to death. You can also have frodo and sam or non-fire arrow using archers to help with it and let faramir get the last hit.

7:02 Except for the Star Wars ones from around this time, the Revenge of the Sith game was out before the movie (The ROTS game was released May 5th, the movie came out May 19th), the many tie-ins for both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones had games with either stories concurrent with the movie's events (Jedi Starfighter is set mostly before ATOC with the final part of it tying in with the movie, Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo is entirely from the perspective of people mounting a resistance on Naboo also only tying in with the main story of the movie during the final act, Galactic Battlegrounds is mostly original storylines or again concurrent with the films) or start up with the final act of one of the movies (the Clone Wars game [The 2002 one, not the one based off the TV show] is set mostly after Attack of the Clones barring the opening few levels and follows an original storyline) or were set entirely before the movies (Like Bounty Hunter which is set before Episode 2 and is a prequel to the movie telling the story of how Jango Fett was selected to be the Clone Army template), meanwhile the Revenge of the Sith game (probably one of the best Movie Tie-Ins EVER good Lord did they COOK with that game) follows an earlier draft of the movie and semi-spoils the movie for anyone who played it before seeing the movie, like Star Wars tie-ins were Built Different back then.

Why would anyone want to play 1.03? Does that even have a multiplayer scene? Its basically 1.06 before the bugfixes and QOL changes. Btw, on Mission 1 the best thing to do is level Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Boromir to 2 before Balin's tomb, then each collect a veterancy upgrade. Then Gandalf rank up to 2 and collect the last veterancy upgrade. Also enemies have less health and/or damage on the first mission of both campaigns. Just because you easily beat a Troll on M1 doesn't mean the same happens in M3 and 5.

Impressive! Think you made the right call picking an early patch, not sure if this is possible on 2.22 or 1.9 on hard, 1 tip, I noticed your heroes are quite low level on the final mission. if u kill the balrog with level 1 gandalf, he is level 5 on the next mission. meaning you can get a lot more levels for your heoroes in the first mission instead of letting gandalf get the xp, im at helms deep on my current playthrough and my gandalf is level 9, and because he didn't pick up the xp boosts in moria it gave room for the other heroes to extra xp too. The balrog fight as a level 1 gandalf is a big tip tho, assuming it works in the earlier patches, I did it just yesterday on patch 2.22 though, and it worked a charm although it took a long time for level 1 gandalf to kill the balrog. Haven't played the old patches in a long time though, can't guarantee it would work on them.
@Admiral_Iddy8 ай бұрын
Aw man I wish I knew that earlier! I didnt want to risk any more deaths so I didnt grind the optional levels so my gandalf was super weak for the final level. if you ever for some god-forsaken reason want to put yourself through the pain of a deathless mission 11 again, I'd recommend upping Gandalf to level 10 beforehand - at that point he is capable of casting "word of power", which is a magical nuke centred on himself that kills most units within 100 metres of him (which I believe is based on the spell effect which happens in the movies when Sauron dies at the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring).

Oh yeah without pesky bannermen deaths doing this on hard at my skill level was just too much, especially live streaming it too I always feel pressured to do well quickly to not bore the crowd with 6 hours on one mission haha! Unfortunately the 1.9 doesnt let me garrison camp towers which would have made a world of difference in black gate

I have a challenge in mind: Can you beat the campaign with only the most basic unit? Use only peasants soldiers Gondor and warriors uruk/ orcs Rules for both: only the one type of unit that can be used. Heroes not allowed unless there's no way to command the basic unit, also cant used to buff. Powers allowed, but not allowed summoning powers. Towers allowed. Existing units that aren't basic are expendable either go slaughterhouse or let them die without damaging the enemy, although they can be used if theres no way to get basic unit in certain maps. Upgrading armour and weapons allowed Evil side: labores can be used for fight, ladders and siege towers allowed if theres castle

Funny you should mention this idea because after my elves only I thought of the same thing! a peasant only or gondor soldier only! I legit might someday. I actually think it will be more feasible than I expect. I was even going to name the units after the chat and viewers so we can take bets on who survives the campaign or gets the most kills :) If I do it Id have the rules like you stated certain powers and no summons etc

One thing i like about bme IS that It almost play as a total war game. Cavary charges send enemys flying , Spears can almost insta kill cavary units charging and They are realy good against big units, shields make then hard to kill with Long range, fire IS used to burn wood units (ents mostly), artilary feels like artilary.
@Admiral_Iddy11 ай бұрын
oh yeah absolutely I do think the rosters could use some filling out, like rohan has no dedicated anti cavalry or artillery, and the good forces in general could use some more siege options and maybe a permanent way to train an eagle. going rohan vs gondor walls will be a pain until you get ents which is an expo plot and expensive. BFME 2 mods gave em a little catapult :) other than that the game is super tight a good blend like you said of total war grand battles with rts base building mechanics

If you'd gotten Gandalf to level 10 you could use his Word of Power ability to just one shot every enemy on the screen in the battle of the black gate mission. Yes, that's what it does, with little exaggeration.
@Admiral_Iddy11 ай бұрын
that definitely could make things easier, since you are level capped 1 level up per mission I figured 3 more skirmish battles would be a lot more worrying about deaths, maybe ill giver another go and see if I get better results

Another game that has leveling up structures is Supreme Commander 2, can't remember if the firstgame has it also. So in 2, a good idea is to make multiple production and just autobuild a unit from it. Making them build faster. Though you do have limit to how many buildings + units you can have.
@Admiral_Iddy11 ай бұрын
Thats cool! Never played the supreme commander games, they looked overwhelming with the amount of stuff going on! I might be thinking of total annihilation? The one where you can zoom out super far. I do think bfme did building levels right, or just make a tech building like war/starcraft
@DraconiusDragora11 ай бұрын
@@Admiral_Iddy Total Annihilation is the game Supreme Commander 1 and 2 are inspired by. All three games are fun in their own ways and can be overwhelming at times, but always worth a try ^^

1:10 Strange how the Estate HATES PJ's adaptations yet _WAR OF THE RING_ is somehow something they like, I have to wonder what Tolkien himself would say to the movie adaptation and the games based off the adaptations and also what he'd say about War of the Ring...

using the ghosts summon is fair game, imo they're literally invincible so no casualties >w

Hey, question. What game is it that has the dragon that is shown at 0:42-43 seconds?
@Admiral_Iddy11 ай бұрын
that would be Eragon, I DO NOT recommend it however, one of the worst license games I personally have played and that was for the 360.
