Soul of Cinder's sword also felt kinda mid, so the tradition continued in ds3. Unless I did anything wrong its kinda sad that the most iconic thing in Dark souls the sword stuck in every bonfire was so mid

@@ewee-st1de They at least buffed it eventually. It really should have been a Bloodborne style trick weapon that would give various buffs as it changes form. Like the Staff automatically giving you the lingering Soul Mass aura and the Curved Sword giving you the old Backflip Dodge with enhanced roll Attacks just as a few examples. They never bothered to buff Gwyns sword, in the remake it should have done fire damage and visually would ignite as you swing it like Qualaags (I forgot how to spell her name) curved sword does.

You know I have never and will never make a Ds1 Gwyn build because you have to wait to be in ng+ before Ornstein and Smough to get his weapon, the weapon can be put on fire like in his fight with charcoal pine resin (the fire grease of this game if you prefer) and Gwyn’s soul can be used to get a new lightning spell just after the Taurus demon of undead Parish And lightning is cool honestly

Equipment load works in ds1 by giving you the finger because you need 70 end a favor and havel ring. This is just so you can wear decent armor and roll.

You don't seem to know about the bonfire right before the tree roots in lost izalith. There are 2 structures in the lava pit. The second you encounter has an invisible wall with a bonfire behind it

I played my DS3 before playing remastered. My first 2 playthroughs ended without experiencing the dlc. I linked the fire in my first one. I thought that would trigger going to ng+. My second playthrough... I just left Gywn's boss room. Lo and behold I'm in ng+ again 😂.

Subscribed! And also, >awful run ideas are very welcome in the comments section. If you insist! I've always wanted to see something like a 'unique/non-respawning enemies only randomizer run'. The Chained Prisoner from the DLC is what initially brought it to mind; he's a very unique weird little miniboss thing with some interesting moves that also isn't really strong enough for the point you fight him to be anything other than an oddity. But the same can be said for a lot of unique enemies. That Daughter of Chaos in Izalith has a bunch of powerful pyromancies, but who ever sees them? She fights you solo and dies quickly. Same can be said for most 'human' enemies really, who has ever really been threatened by the Darkmoon Knightess as she slow-rolls around? Hell, some people never even *see* Vagrants let alone get a chance to be killed by one. So take em all and add them to a randomizer list. All the NPCs plus the Giant Cats and the Boars and the weird jelly ghost blobs in New Londo and everything else you don't get a chance to fight often; add them all to a randomizer spawn list and go. And actually that doesn't sound nearly miserable enough for someone who clearly enjoyed his all Manus run; so maybe double the amount of enemies too. At least. Or I'm sure you can find something else masochistic to torment yourself with. Can you imagine the joy of running through Undead Burg and having your face smashed in by a combination of Paladin Leeroy, a Mimic, the Chained Prisoner and a Gargoyle while Blowdart Snipers fill you with toxic and a Channeler buffs everyone? Doesn't that sound like a fun celebration of the effort From Software put in to even enemies you'll only rarely fight?

The R2 can be used to duck under some attacks After looking at a builder the Gwyn sword is technically stronger than the Claymore with 40 str and dex. The main drawback being that the Gwyn sword weighs 2 more units than the Claymore, has awful R2s, and is a NG+ weapon.

I think "unfathomably terrible" is a bit harsh for the sword. Like, it's undeniably dissapointing for the final boss's weapon, and it's not a particularly great Greatsword, but it is still a Greatsword. It's a mediocre entry in arguably the best weapon class in the entire game. The armour is dogshit though. No argument there. It's really weird in retrospect how in DS1 all light armour and some lighter medium armour just don't have any poise. Not even a token amount.

Now the intro is technically off cause at least in prepare to die edition you were able to trade boss souls to other players and as long as you adhered to the +/-10SL +/-10%(SL) formula (cause passwords didnt exist yet) you could be summoned to a new characters NG in Undead burg, give them everything and access to sunlight spear/gwyns sword etc before they fought 1 boss without any cheats. And as we all know, even SL1 playthroughs of DS1 are a joke so while yeah, remastered added passwords to circumvent level discrepancies for friends, you cant trade souls, and getting boss weapons would require a unique weapon or a +5 standard weapon however the soul for sunlight spear is no longer possible in remastered in NG without cheats.
