I always wait until I beat Quelaag before picking up that Fire Keeper Soul(that way, I still have access to a living Fire Keeper). Even playing normally, I'm always paranoid when it comes to making sure my heals are as good as they can be for each stage of the game.

Could have used miracles for extra heals? Or killed pinwheel earlier for the rite of kindling then farmed rats for humanity? Not bad, did it the hard way.

not bad, did it the easy way. miracles take a long time unless you're investing 50 points into dex, plus miracles = no vitality, and no health. 20 estus was only needed twice, and so killing pinwheel early would have been useless. dont backseat me when you havent thought out your backseating.
