Fun fact: during Vietnam, the M16 was developed, however Springfield (I think) was uninterested in producing it and would have rather produced the M14 instead, but the U.S. government was stern on them producing the M16. So near the start of the war, they used old artillery ammo gun powder instead of that intended for rifles, causing the M16 to malfunction frequently and the death of several US soldiers.

Your M60 sight came from the M60-D, the aircraft mounted M60 that came with an anti air sight so that is a correct. However, the foregrip is from the M60E3 which is introduced after vietnam

British one would be easy as there's quite alot of mods for different periods. Cold War - FAL/SLR, Browning Hi-Power, Sterling SMG, Bren WW2 - SMLE or No.4 Rifle, Webley Revolver, Bren, STEN gun, double barrel shotgun, Welrod Modern - L85, AWM/AWP, M249, Glock 19, Kukri (Take of a Nepali regiment but let's gloss over that..) and Benelli M4 And of course... Butter knife for all periods.

Games can’t do m14 and m16 sights well, not usually at least. Irl the rear sight is supposed to all but disappear and the gun itself will also appear to fade away because you’re supposed to keep both eyes open and roughly focus on your front sight, I love using m16 clones irl but hate using them in games because in games they always take up most of your vision and make it harder to see enemies or surroundings unless you put an optic on it

And more than once as a kid he did say "watch out for Charlie" and "the VC would never (enter current subject)". He for sure had PTSD, he saw a lot of combat and friends die.

I actually did a run as a Vietnam Mac-V operator with a XM177 from the SREP pack which is the same service rifle that you used but more comprehensive mods and I roamed the Commonwealth with a M1911, XM177, M60 and a Ka-Bar the whole time whilst working for the BoS. I'm also currently doing a CIA run where everything is modern with the weapons being a SIG MCX, SIG P320, M110, Benelli M2 Agency and also modern armor from the PMC pack with FAST helmet mod and I'm siding with the Railroad cuz... You know, how the CIA always funds underground "terrorists"?
