The NCR did fight the Enclave in Fallout 2. They got destroyed even though they had a defense pact with the Brotherhood at the time. Also, once the oil rig was destroyed and the Enclave remnants retreated to Navarro, the NCR chased them and human waved them until they broke. Then spent absurd money on bounties so that they could never regroup. That’s actually when the NCR and Brotherhood had a falling out; both wanted the tech left in Navarro and the NCR wouldn’t hand it over.

The problem you had with the plasma caster sounds like a problem I had when I tried to get just a Tesla-Beaton prototype running, I think the game balances the massive damage of heavy energy weapons by giving them very low accuracy.

Yeah which, I mean, if we aren’t sniping with the caster, it’s a fuckin monster. I think with my energy skill maxed out it was chilling at like 100 dmg per shot almost which in close range, everything is basically cooked. Especially with how high crit chance you can get energy weapons in NV.
