There's this theory that harry potter imagined the whole hogwarts wizarding thing as an unhealthy coping mechanism. In this alternate reality harry found the elder wand (mq-42) and got rid off the death eaters (school bullies led by dudley)

now that i think about it why don't wizards use a magical machine gun instead of a flimsy wand wands can break, aren't easily replacable (example: ron weasley) and the spells can be countered or blocked using other spells idk if any actual harry potter fans will be here but i doubt it's easy to counter/deflect dozens of small round chunks of lead there might as well be a gun that instead of firing bullets either fires magical bullets (made of magic metal, imbued with magic or otherwise more effective against wizards) or it casts spells at a speed similar to machine gun fire (just say the name of the spell before firing and enjoy)
